With the two big rucks I’d like to see a bit more outside run.

I know Hollands gets knocked around a bit but his ability to cover so much ground has really helped us.

Seeing how the conditions have stood up tonight I think we are a bit too big

Having said that contested ball is our strength and Swans weakness.

The positives are the midfield of Cripps Hewett Cerra Walsh Acres Docherty supported by Cuningham Fogarty should ensure first possession

The defence is physically tough and should match up well

Sub will be from Dow or Motlop. At first I thought Dow to add run through the middle, but upon reflection Motlop makes more sense as we have plenty of midfielders already in the 22.

I would bring in Motlop for Cottrell
Hollands for Marchbank. Doc to defence
Dow sub

i know we talk about Motlop ... but do you know what i take from watching the pies v dees

they dont have power forwards. we have two.

i feel like that will be huge for us. give them enough supply (win the contest in the middle) and get it enough to Curnow / McKay and its game over.

i still wouldnt mind motlop nipping at the feet of Curnow / McKay though ...

Maynard the preemptive enforcer makes another careless hit on a Melbourne mid, Brayshaw this time. Left the ground as usual, which means he can't control his momentum at all. Like Neal-Bullen last season, Brayshaw wouldnt have had time to avoid even if he wanted to.

Had a huge argument with a Pies supporter (now ex-friend) about him leaving the ground and smacking Neal-Bullen in the head with his shoulder last season. Also dragged him to the ground and slammed NB's head into the turf. Dunno how he gets away with it give the 3 weeks handed down to Boyd and many other AFL players this year.

And of course he's in no way remorseful and is in the face of the Demons remonstrating with him. Dog acts disguised as tough footy are his M.O.

Marchbank has trouble keeping his feet in the dry.
I don't see him as a wet tracker.

And speaking of two rucks and two tall KFs, Cox (16) is beating Gawn (11) for hitouts on his own and Cameron also with 8 HO while McDonald 1 HO.

I was going to say Harry is a way better player than Cox (as reflected by contract) so if Collingwood playing two rucks & two tall forwards (McStay is 195 cm, like Cripps) and Pitto is too arguably. But when Cox is at his best (which is not often) he's better than Pitto at his best b/c the goal kicking and marking. But H at his best is way better as a forward than Cox. Next pre-season Harry could take the initiative and add something to his game and therefore our team balance. With TDK, Harry and JSOS in th team there's zero room for Pitto and none of those three have to compromise their main role too much.

Not for me. He attacked a smother, admirably, and when he realised that he missed he did everything possible to minimise contact.
