i'd like to see our stats for this last 9 games? i know we're number 1 ranked in defense and were top 3 for offense - where was our turnover score at?

That’s the exact stat Hoyne brought to the table.

We’re +4 points over that nine weeks, compared to the previous 13. Ranked well outside the top 8.

yeah ok... i was hoping it was higher.

bcos when every team is bringing heat and contest to the ball, it's about who moves the ball the best ... we'll be competitive this finals. but i'd imagine where ever we fall short, we'll address in the offseason - which is a bit of a worry considering we're resigning everyone and seem to be going the development from within the club as a forward strategy.

rather then get that one or two or three FA's that put us over the top.

still hoping we will go up another gear and find a way to score coast to coast and win the lot. lol

So the side kicks in the ball gets to the wing there is a stoppage or ball up or throw in created from Carltons defense
We win the clearance and kick the goal.
Is that a score from clearance or a score from turnover because in my mind creating the stoppage caused the turnover

Syd I think you'll find it is this, from Champion Data:

Score from Turnover: A score that results from an unbroken chain after a turnover.

Clearance.

The ball is in dispute at the stoppage.

Internally, they’d be happy with how that went… but, they’d also be wary that the opponent was able to reposition itself during our offensive.

Lies, damn lies and statistics.

Who's to say that scores from clearances won't be the new shiny in a year or two?

There's spots that will be made if needed for a great target, but not at any price, and Gresham isnt one of them, nor Ben McKay at $750K +

I guess you dont have anyone in mind and waiting to find out our gaps at the end the season; our Premiership Season.

Exactly

Trends change, and Vossy's Carlton is changing the game, and challenging the traditional beliefs.

It’s a 16 year trend, so yeah… change is ‘due’…

You never know.

If Vossy wins the flag this year, or next, his game will be branded with some tag for his team's particular style to win the Holy Grail; unique to Voss.
Then the stats will say....well, you have to follow or devise a plan to beat Vossy's mantra: contest, contest, contest.

Then, following the Flag, the stats and trends will remain the trend, but The Navy Blue one bucked the trend, and then at the end of the day, stats and trends won't matter .

This is our year.

They already have a plan, as 15 of the last 17 years will attest.

As far as they’re concerned, contest, contest, contest equals opportunity, opportunity, opportunity.

Hard to argue with that logic also.
Let's hope we are at the start of 16 years of dominance then.

Craig McRae asked today who he thought was coach of the year and without reservation nominated Vossy. Have to admire their friendship.

Voss was just on AFL 360. A man who means business and one who knows what final's business is. My confidence has been turning into nervousness, listening to Vossy speak my confidence is back! Thriving upon the wait and expectation. Let's lap up the atmosphere!

It’s funny but if you look back, you’ll find the worse loss we had for the year was probably the R24 game.
Even through the 9 weeks of the Great Depression, we were never blown out of the park.
Week in week out, with little confidence in ourselves, we kept fronting and battling through games.
That’s when I knew that when it turned, it was going to be a tsunami.
I have so much faith in this leadership and team.

Yeah , Finals was Vossies caper . Played in a lot of finals and probably won three quarters of them . Was a mixture of aggression , strength , and sheer brutality . I"m just wondering who will be Voss's designated " Attack Dog " ? nothing surer than Voss will have a couple of Swans targets he will be trying to unrattle . My guess is Heaney and Warner will be in for a bit of extra attention .

Acres will be one of them. Maybe Newman the other.

And Pitto to take the Shane Mumford approach is my guess .

Hewett owes them.
He was targeted by Swans in the last game.
