Hate to say this, but without Silvagni we need Pittonet to play. TDK with H pinch hitting doesn't work.

Really? I liked it. I thought TDK was close to our best and McKay (although rusty) got involved more. In a game where we didn't really try I thought the signs were good.

Against Hickey & Mclean this week I would continue with it

I thought TDK beat Briggs, but played a good game.
I have read a few match reports from the game, and haven't seen TDK named in the best.

What do you mean by "McKay (although rusty) got involved more".
Doesn't sound like you thought he was good in the ruck.
I know you wanted him in the ruck, and you got that but you really think that served us well?

I too thought other than giving some fans what they wanted to see, the experiment (as Vossy puts it) of Harry in the ruck was an absolute fail.

TDK struggled against Hickey and McAndrew last time we played the Swans at the SCG.
It was Pittonet who did the damage on Hickey. Jumped on him, kneed him and won most taps in that game. TDK was a bit off with his timing.
At the end of the day, we only lost that game because of pathetic kicking at goal from our KPFs. Pathetic.

The questions for me

2 Rucks or not?
Play Kennedy?
Can we play Fisher in a final?
How do we replace Acres?
Docherty role

A couple of times but only during rotations. I saw Newman on him at certain times as well. Means nothing

Well, by the sound of it, yesterday didn't mean anything to you, but I think it did mean something.

Some players were playing for a spot in the Finals team.

You made a list of the players who would be worried after yesterday's game. Why, if it means nothing?
Why wasn't Kemp on that list? Do you think he played well?

I made a list of players based on last month or so and on match ups, balance and players coming in
Kemp has been very good since coming in and is a key part of our defence. Not even a consideration for me. Easily Best 22
I was there yesterday. So many player weren't having ago. Difference between yesterday and last game I went to (Demons) was stark

Kemp played okay (really there were some poor - Fisher, Durdin - but mostly everyone lacked intensity almost from the moment Curnow kicked his 2 - at the ground you could feel the relief I reckon when he got his two early), intercepted well and from what I saw it was mostly Gov on Green, the others tried to cover usually though they were trying to cover 2 or 3 spare. Problem was as much about the run from their halfback forward as the defense anyway.

Also I think they should have had Boyd as sub - thought fisher was so poor but how long since Boyd has played? Maybe the thinking might be Fish out and Marchbank in?

I am a Boyd fan but he wasn't even an emergency this week which is a concern

Fisher worries me in a final as he can't handle pressure. Cincotta has been quiet last 3-4 weeks and hasn't offered anything offensively

With Dow playing well and Cripps Hewett Walsh Cerra in the middle I like Docherty back in defence. Makes us a lot better. Howver, the Acres injury could change that. If so I would play Boyd

Huge news. He's become so important to us. I think he was involved in just about every decent chain of possession yesterday before going off. He has a very unique combination of a big frame and strength as well as running power. He seems to be able to draw a couple of tacklers and burst through which frees up other players to get the ball out of congestion. Will be a huge win if he's good to go for the first final

I was a bit worried after what Voss said in the presser. Didn’t sound very optimistic so I was bracing for the worst

When can we expect to hear from MRO re Weiters? Like most, I expect a fine at worse, but anything is possible.

He was brilliant yesterday. A contested running beast, breaking through tackles, marking, covering the paddock. I was a bit sour on him during our bad run where his iffy kicking was badly exposed, but in our improved system he has become a critical piece. I was confident he'd be right for finals, but it's a relief to have it confirmed.

Acres fit makes a big difference to selection

IMO allows Docherty to play back. Means Fisher out and do we pick Boyd or Cincotta to play on Papley?

Fair comment, you do have a lot of teams with different angles.

I'm glad you say that with conviction re Kemp, and only someone at the ground could tell if some were not going 100%.

A best Carlton mad mate, sporadic TC poster is a huge fan of Kemp now and for the next 10 years. He's dead set backing him too.
I'm selfish in that I have a deep desire to expedite Kemp as a mid. I don't want him pigeon holed as a 3rd tall defender.

I'm happy for Kemp to be best 22. If my hunch is right, Vossy has been massaging Marchbank's return, with opportunity and latitude.
I was willing to consider dropping Marchbank after the Suns game, but what I saw yesterday spiked my interest again.. He might play HB, or wing. Who knows? Not me.

Kemp is the incumbent this year; no doubt.
