The one they won was a big QF against Melbourne last year.

Yep. Strongly leaning towards bringing Pitto back. H needs to spend pre season working on his ruck craft amongst other things but can't go into a final with him as back up ruck.

Only needs to ruck for a short time. Did get 16 possessions, 10 contested and 5 marks. Prefer that to a few tapouts anyday. Tap outs can be an overrated stat. How many sides have dominated tapouts but got smacked in the clearances.

I thought Harry worked hard, can't fault his efforts. But I really rate Mclean & Hickey & think we need to bring Pitto back in.

Really? I liked it. I thought TDK was close to our best and McKay (although rusty) got involved more. In a game where we didn't really try I thought the signs were good.

Against Hickey & Mclean this week I would continue with it

The worry is that if we can’t score from stoppages, we can’t score at all.

Cripps coming in will be a plus, same with Kennedy if he’s right to go. But it starts in the ruck.

Experimentation is over. We have to lean into our strengths.

weitering is pretty dumb. eve of the finals and he's out here giving lash and brow treatments

You're always nervous when its Carlton vs MRO.

Nothing in it.

Fleeting hands.

Don't worry.

Hope you're right Bondi.
I guess the AFL would prefer us to win this match as a Pies/Demons vs Carlton final would create much interest and fill the MCG. Hopefully this works in our favour........maybe Gill will have a quiet word with Michael Christian.

I don't see it as experimentation. How many side play TWO rucks

Pies - Cameron/McStay
Melb - Gawn/Van Rooyen
Bris - McInerney/Daniher
Saints - Marshall/Hayes
Swans - Hickey/McLean
GWS - Briggs/O'Keefe
Port - Lycett/Finlayson

and how many Premiers have used TWO rucks? The extra runner in the modern game is vital

We have won so much contested ball even when bening beaten in the ruck over the past 2 months

Ideally we would have Jack playing but I like McKay playing more a Joe Daniher role. That's my take

Careless, high contact, low impact = Fine. I can't see how they could argue against any of those parameters.

Braithy you could find yourself in hot water - intentional, high, medium impact - that's at least 2 weeks

Not related - the bleeding is from the other side of his face.

Bleeding was from the opposite side to the "gouge".

How??

Weitering's hand touched the left side of Greene's face - Greene was bleeding from the right eye - probably self inflicted when he slammed McGovern's head into the ground immediately before the "incident".

There's absolutely nothing in it. Weitering will be free to play.

The fact that the stupid commentators and media haven't picked up on that yet is truly mind boggling....

Yes who could ever forget Barry Hall being cleared to play in the 2005 Grand Final after blatantly punching Matt Maguire in the guts.

Medium impact?

That sounds like a challenge.

Its time to get the band together for Finals.

I expect Pitto- TDK is Vossy's preference (and mine during Finals) to be back as business as usual.

I was impressed to see Harry pushed into the ruck, to see what happens (like Vossy said). I don't want to see that again during Finals.

I want 2 KPF's: a CHF and a FF, all the time, and we have Harry and Charlie to do that. So do it!

I notice on footy forums and in conversation there's a real preference to get Boyd back over Fisher to play defense. I'm really disappointed Boyd wasn't given game time in the last 3 weeks, like all the other players (including depth) have enjoyed. Fisher was never going to be a loose player in defense during Finals. It does not happen.

Kempy wasn't great, and have felt all along he's been playing well, but is still serving his apprenticeship (developing). Ive enjoyed watching marchbank improve by the week and looked good when he came back on.

Weiters will be free to play, maybe pay a fine.

I'm assuming Acres will be right to play.

Cripps - Dow
Docherty - Hollands
Pittonet - Fogarty
Boyd - Fisher
Motlop - Durdin
Marchbank - Kemp

If Acres doesn't get up in 2 weeks, Hollands is in the team.

Sub Kemp.
Emergency Dow Hollands Fogarty

Dow, Kemp and Hollands unlucky.
