Agree re Cripps. He is clearly hampered. Also, I would shrivel up inside if he, of all players, got hit in his clearly sore ribs and missed the finals!
I might be losing my mind but I’m almost getting to the point where Dow stays in ahead of Kennedy. :-O
Point of difference and has been playing well… have I lost my mind???

not at all. i'd have dow ahead of kennedy too. kennedy isn't fast enough for the forward-centre role. he has to be a pure mid. but hewitt is better and dow is cover for cerra or walsh and will be a good sub for finals.

Rest nobody!
Put our best side out on the paddock and win a game of football, it's the only way to continue to build our form and maintain a winning mentality.
There's a weeks break before the finals and that's where players can rest and freshen uo.

I hope we rest Cripps. We need our captain as close as possible to 100% for the finals. From an individual viewpoint he deserves to go into his 1st finals series as close to 100% as possible.
If fit Walsh, Cerra and Gov in.
Cripps rested. Would seriously consider resting Doc too and Marchy omitted.
Would like to get Fog back in and ideally stick with DC so maybe Ollie gets squeezed out.

We could be playing for a home final.

I reckon if Cripps is rested and trains 50% over the next 2 weeks and in that time works on his left foot kick and handball, maybe some art school to encourage the left side... for the whole of the first week; see what happens. If there is progress, repeat. He's the only one I'd rest against GWS; unless he's angry.

Resting players? You have to ask them.

Yeah Marchbank and Kemp were disappointing.

There was ample evidence of Dow's weakness.
Fisher will get brushed aside in Finals; can't stick a tackle, like Dow TBH.
Doesn't mean Fog comes in because he can tackle and apply pressure.

Cerra Walsh McGovern in.
Silvagni didnt show much today imo, especially when the game was hot. Kicks astray worried me too, but he was in form prior to injury, so on the cusp.

Way things are going if the dogs beat Eagles and knock off cats next week by the time it gets to our game GWS won't be able to make it and have nothing to play for

This is what I'm looking for. I couldn't be happier if it happens.

How good was the GWS result for us today in so many ways.

Yeah you're probably right.

Anyway we'll know the situation by the time of our game

That's assuming Swans beat Melbourne?

Silvagni was BOG in his last game. 4 goals from 19 touches and 10 coaches votes. He’s in our best 22

Talk about Cripps being rested is simply wrong.

Didn't anyone else see the padding he had around his chest?

If he takes the week off it is due to injury. However it is written up.

I'd rather play GWS or St Kilda in Melbourne than the bulldogs.

BTW, if we win this, when do we release the DVD Box set.?

The way I see the ladder, it is very unlikely we can finish lower than 6th, absent a thrashing by GWS.
Of course, for old Carlton, that would be the big challenge to maintain the rage with not much riding on it.

Does anyone know how our final position (say, 5th or 6th) affects who we would play in week 2 of the finals, assuming we win in week 1?
Do we play the loser of 1v4 or 2v3? The way it’s shaping up, looks like the former would be in Melbourne, the latter interstate?

Loser if 1v4 plays winner of 5v8
Then the winner of that switches to the preliminary v (2/3).

I think we’re all on the same page here, the reason I’m calling for Cripps to be “rested” is because he looks banged up and sore, which is the same as “injured”. Given the way he plays, I want him to be able to attack the finals unhampered by any soreness.
