Are you hoping Doc is injured or rested?

Docs fine. Was not injured. His calf was given a rest.

Pitto has only been back for 3 games. He's just getting warmed up.

I don't think SOS is a walk up start despite the great form he was in prior to injury.

Boyd is due to win his spot back. Fisher will most likely make way for the bigger bodied BP.

Cottrell's Holland' Martin's and Acres' running power is too important to this team to leave them out.

Our VFL team will be really strong vs GCS, who are the top of the ladder team.

Probably add Durdin and Silvagni to last week's team that beat Casey.

Not so fast there, remember that the VFL team play before the seniors so they’ll probably keep three players out of the VFL, sub plus two. So overall the VFL side maybe weaker than last week!

Rest Doc if he isnt injured, get him right for the finals. Pitto has more tape holding him together than a Mummy plus i prefer TDK/JSOS combo, more versatile and more dangerous forward than TDK/Pitto. Cotters can come on and provide run late in the 2nd half. We need to get games into Harry and JSOS and work out the best mix before the finals.

yep, JSOS and Harry in for Pitto and Ed. Fogs/Cotterell to sub role. I'm comfortable with Jack being second ruck against teams where they dont have a second recognised ruck. Suns will run Levi as the second ruck and I think Jack can be competitive against him. Ditto for GWS.

Ive heard of holding back 1 sub and 1 emergency, or when they are travelling interstate they take the sub and 2 Emergencies, but this week we have the whole squad in the same city, so I dont think there will be 2 held over as emergency given the games are only 4 hours apart.

Nevertheless, with 3 coming into the squad, there will be the sub from last week, take 2 emergencies, leaves one new player this week in the VFL. I reckon they will want Jack to get a game or two into his legs after injury, and with Witts the opposing ruckman, only Pitto can best handle him. Jack will get rag dolled by Witts.

201 cm 101 kgs vs 194cm 92 kgs. Levi will eat Jack alive, and Levi is a recognised ruckman.

I'm uncomfortable we put Jack in that situation TBH.

Waiting with interest to see Side. Last week was:

B: Newman Weitering Kemp
HB: Cincotta Marchbank Saad
C: Acres Cripps Hollands
HF: Cottrell TDK Cuningham
F: Martin Curnow Owies
Foll: Pittonet Hewett Docherty
Int: Motlop Dow Fogarty Fisher (Ed Curnow)

No Injuries this week
Available: Boyd McKay Silvagni C.Durdin
Maybe: Cerra Walsh Kennedy

Interesting selection coming up. With two games left Voss will want to get our best side togther for finals asap

Isn't Walsh also due back this week?
Also, I didn't hear anything about Cunningham re dangerous tackle - no report? That's a relief!
I'd be tempted to do a straight swap Harry for Pitto. Harry can do a bit of ruck if required. I'd like to retain as much of our run as possible. And btw, I think Harry is fast and an aggressive tackler too.
Walsh in for Ed, and I'd prefer to have someone other than Dow as the sub.

In: Harry, Walsh
Out: Pitto, Ed

Ins over the coming weeks:
I think Boyd needs to earn his spot back again and ditto JSOS.
I suspect something will come up that will naturally provide them an opportunity.
Cerra, McGovern - automatic re-entry.
Kennedy comes back as the super-sub when ready.

Outs over the coming weeks:
Will be a few tough weeks of selections as these players come back.
I suspect Dow is first out when Cerra comes back; it will be interesting to see whether Fisher can hold his form and place.
I think Cunningham, Fogarty, Cotterell are playing important roles in our new, winning game style and pressure.
I think its a choice between Boyd and Cincotta.

I'd love to get a look at how we play with Kennedy and Hewett in the same team before the finals (assuming we get there of course).

Walsh highly unlikely. Cuningham not charged

Has to as soon as possible.

Get the band together to practise winning formula, with intent to keep winning.

No doubt Walsh Cerra McKay are Top 10 players. They need to come back to feel the noise, connect with team mates, make things happen.

Next week's team vs GWS will be the full dress rehearsal. This week against GCS is about everyone showing their best foot forward.

I think we are going to smash the Suns on their home ground. So much to play for. No need to see the team; 10 goal win.

Didn't we beat Gold Coast last time without ANY recognised rucks?

I appreciate the size difference with Levi and Jack, but I dont regard Levi as a true second ruck in the vein of a Luke Jackson or grundy

Jack has been going up against ruckmen Levi’s size for years and holding his own. All he has to do is compete in the air and nullify the opposing ruckman, then we have a huge advantage at ground level

Vossy played his usual 'tall' forwards ad tall mobile defense

Pittonet
TDK
McKay
Curnow

Weitering
McGovern
Kemp

Its really rare that Vossy would go without Pitto and TDK as his first choice rucks, and he likes 2 rucks because TDK is dangerous in the forwardline.

I just think Vossy will hold Silvagni, whilst he can, with Silvagni vaving been out with a knee injury out for 3 weeks.

In the last round vs GWS I can see Vossy playing 3 rucks and Silvagni as sub swapping with Pitto at half time to get a good last look before finals.
