The charity wins are over for those pretenders.

I really don’t like them, tin arses get east goals cheating ahead of the ball, then smacked when we put a sweeper back and lifted our intensity.

When I the last time Blues had kicked 3 or less goals to half time and came home to win by that same 3 goals?! I can't even think of one.

Did happen a couple of times in Teague's Interim half a year and a couple again with Teague in 2020 but that's it.

Well, firstly I need to eat humble pie on Paddy Dow and Zac Fisher.

I still think they don't factor in our future (except perhaps for depth), but:

Dow stuck to the task and kept chugging away despite the foibles. Very happy for him with that goal - might be the highlight of his career, and well earned. Should be very proud of himself all things considered.

Fish didn't fade away as he did in the past. Got lots of the ball and used it pretty well all told. Knew what was required and did the job.

Obviously thrilled with the win. I turned the sound off at half time, convinced Ross would park the buss and we'd lose by 30+ . If we make finals and some things go our way with who and where we play, with this kind of momentum we could do some serious damage.

The sleeping giant's scratching his ass boys and girls. When the eyes open..... he will be @#$%&! HUNGRY.

PS: All of a sudden I have a craving for an espresso and little cake from that shop down on Acland street run by that mad St Kilda bloke

Charlie held all day not one free paid this week - umpires have a meeting about the frees against Moore last week?

Great win, was not a happy supporter at half time... very happy when the buzzer sounded

He was next man up

Everyone knows their role.

Why would you want to leave this joint? He played like his footy life depended on it. Great to see.

Blake acres was amazing also today.

I kinda wish he returned that silly flex rubbish that marshall gave him in the 1st quarter.

Rub it in his face.

Amazing grit and guts from the boys today.
Undermanned and just kept pushing.

I kinda liked that Acres just smiled then Marshall did as well, as if Acres said, 'That macho shit ain't getting under my skin. I'll be laughing at the end.' Or am I revising history because we're the victors? Did I say we won?

Motlop has kicked 4,2,2,2 goals in his last 4 matches.
That is seriously impressive.

The Acres play to set up Charlie in Q4 was absolutely top shelf, knocked the saints player on his ass then had the composure to not take the shot himself. All 4 of our last qtr goals were bloody superb, sounded like the roof was coming off on TV

Well done Michael Voss. Our second half forward structure & pressure won us the game.

I wonder if the 9 day break helped us, compared to their 7. In any event great win, a bit like in 1992 when we overran these turds after half time at Waverley.

Go Blues!

Even though we were on top, I wanted to finish it off and I was yelling at Acres to give it to the obviously better kick - I needn't have worried...a later angle showed Acres, I believe, drawing Charlie's opponent closer before dishing it off. Is our decision making getting better across the team?

Yep they are so predictable and pathetic.
And inconsistent.

Common sense shoukd tell them Charlie is being held.

But they're so @#$%&! stupid and pig heaed the umpires.

Like others, I wrote the day off. I just thought we'd finally reached critical mass with the players unavailable. And even then, the way we played was so frustrating in the first half. So many fumbles and skill errors. Credit to the saints pressure which was insane in that first half. But they couldn't maintain it and we took their best punch and then countered beautifully. We out-uglied St Kilda and ground out the best win of the year given the personnel out and where we were at.

Vossy took a big step today. Outcoached by Lyon the first time we played them. And again in the first half. To turn that around is incredible and the kind of win that creates a belief that who knows where it can take this group.

The games don't get any easier from here, but I don't think this group cares. They believe

Great summary. I said at halftime to my other (who thought I'd given up - no, just filthy at our mistakes) that the coach was going to have to pull something out of the hat, coz we were looking shot. TDK's goal after the break was the best example of a rejuvenated attitude (and player). The Aints had very little in the tank by the end.

Bring on #17!

You must be born after 2000.

I remember our winning 16 games in a row in 1995
This year we only need to win 14 in a row. :smoking:
Go Blues!

Hey, we didn't have to win 16 in a row in '95. We just did it because we could. Ah, those were the days...

Pros:

Against the odds. I'm with the coach. Best win for ages.
Can't see us missing the finals now.
Newman, Acres, Weiters, Fisher, Cripps, Hewett.
Excellent 2nd half from Docherty, Motlop, TDK, Dow, Hollands.
Classy, classy goal from Cuners at the start of the last quarter.
Martin's toughness.

Cons:

Missed targets going forward.
2nd quarter.
Pittonet, Marchbank, Fogarty.

Just watched the highlights, Charlie had two sensational 60 metre pinpoint passes into the forward 50, to Acres in the first quarter and Owies in the second half, plus his own goal. .

Was also great to see Charlie acknowledge his talismanic older brothers pass that triggered his only goal. How many times this year have we seen a Charlie goal result from one of Ed’s forward 50 entries?

Ah, footy is a funny old game.

About 8 weeks ago, couldn't see where our next win was coming from.
Now, have absolutely no idea where our next loss is coming from !

The train keeps rolling baby.
