This has disaster written all over it.

Why can’t we have nice things?

Reckon S Durdin might be a good chance to play. No back man has come into the squad for McGovrrn except him. No Cowan, Young or Plowman. Could potentially put Doc back but he’s required in the middle given the injuries there.

McGovern out is… interesting. We played an extra tall last week, and all their tall inclusions are named on the bench, which suggests they may not play…

Geez, more nervous nellies here than last week!

Granted, we are weaker this week but so is the opposition compared to Friday.

They wouldn't get close to the side we beat last week and I expect us to have their measure, mounting injuries notwithstanding.

Next man up and all that.

This is going to the usual script so far.

Must win game, St K will treat it as their GF, we have our weakest side in some time, they have their strongest in some time, Ross Lyon busy telling everyone they're underdogs...

Probably a good thing cos thanks to that genius Russell we wouldn't have enough to field a side.

all of the saints inclusions would play you would think, as they are on the extended bench. i reckon ross is playing mind games. only one tall will play methinks, as he hasnt dropped anyone else

good thing he has got sos to help him out with 'inside information'....

For all the nervous nellies out there, a few stats to make you feel a little better.

In the past 7 matches, the aints have only won 3, and they were against the bottom 3 sides (Hawthorn, North, WC)

In those wins, they only beat North and WC by 8 points... 8 points! Remember what we did to WC? twice?

We're missing a few but if we turn up to play as we have the past 6 weeks the aints are no chance.

We will be resuming normal transmission from previous weeks and win by 50+

In fact, make that "we will belt them by 10 goals"

They are softer than the underside of my sack.

P.S. Charlie kicks 6 - 8

Conservative. I say he kicks 69

So it looks like Dow and Durdin in for Cerra and McGovern.

Sub either Binns or Ed, I’d think probably Ed. Honey and Fisher have done nothing lately to earn a sub position.

I'd like to see Binns as sub

He may like 69. It's a very nice number.

But saying he'll kick that is a tad ambitious.

But you know, I KNOW what you were doing there....

nah, if he plays he starts. i think its a bit unfair to have a first gamer as sub, the nerves would build up so much over the game

TBH, we did well to get this many games out of Guv in a row, given his history.
Over to you, Marchy.

But how does Honey get anywhere near the squad, let alone the side?
Let's hope one of the small fwds isn't also under a cloud...

Honey wont be selected. We have Owies whose in front of him for now.
The return of Martin and Cuningham don't give him a sniff.
We have 2 'in form' smalls who bring pressure in the forwardline, Motlop and Fogarty.
Fogarty to run through the midfield.
No room for Honey.

Over to you Marchy! Was bound to happen.
Eerie that its feeling like last year, except we have to momentum in the right direction this year.

Go Blues. 1 point win is all I ask, a 10 goal win is what we can achieve if we asphyxiate them with pressure from the get go and let perceived pressure put them off their A game.
We win.

Cerra Gov OUT:
Dow IN for sure.

S.Durdin? He's the only KPD on the bench.

Kemp and Marchy cover that, but reality is, these 2 are mobile talls rather than 'lock' down talls imo, let alone KPDs.
They rely on team defense against talls, and monster smalls forwards. They're flexible.

Weitering is the AA KPD who takes and smashes King. I doubt King lasts the game. Hasn't played for 4 weeks.

The Saints have picked a mobile forwardline.

[22] Jack Higgins,
[8] Bradley Hill,
[25] Mattaes Phillipou
[16] Dan Butler,
[47] Anthony Caminiti,
[43] Cooper Sharman

King and Membrey named on the interchange, and expected ins, but who knows?

We can cover these talls. I dont think we will go with Sam Durdin. His form doesnt really warrant a spot. He hasn't been knocking the door down.

I have a hunch Weitering will like some time on Caminiti to find out whose boss.
That will happen if King doesnt play, or subbed out.

My guess

Interchange: Dow, Motlop, Cottrell, Curnow. I think Voss may start with Ed on interchange as a tagger rather than a tagger as a sub.

Sub: Fisher for a bit of zip later in the game.

Emergency: Durdin Honey Binns, Carroll

VFL have a bye this weekend.
