I think Dow & Fisher will go for bugger all
If we get Gresham he is free
McGovern will sign for lower contract with incentives
Philp Curnow Plowman will go

We will trade for more picks. If we can land 3 under 30 that would be great
I’d also like to hold a spot or two for pre season. There is cheap gold out there. How good have Boyd Cincotta Cottrell Owies been and cost us NOTHING

Any idea about what’s happening with JSOS?

How good!!! is that!
Fcn amazing The nothings have been of more value than the some of the picks after our No 1 picks since 2002.

What I like about where we are at is we have a great list imo....when most are fit.
No amazing rucks, but everything outside that is HOT.

Depth is the next layer.

BUT if we can get another bonafide KPD next trade I'b be rapped.

Add a developing ruck-forwad, or bonafide back up 100kg ruckman and I will be in heaven.
2024 draft is the next layer.
We are still a young team, no matter how you look at it.

I think we have to plan after JSOS. I can't see him kncking back a 2year contract @ 4-450
I want him to commit to Blues, and Im sure he does.

When he's in top form he's a match winner, when he's not, he's depth imo.

He has to stay a Blue, no matter what,

he would be a better option that gresham

i'm out of the loop, being in the uk, but why are we alledgedly so into gresham? i just dont see him being necessary when we can develop our own, and seem to be doing so

Because, until six weeks ago, we were absolutely putrid across half forward.

If Cuningham and Fogarty have played themselves into new contracts (at a cut price, mind you), it’ll be a hard sell to add another to the mid-fwd group on free agent rates.

Mid-Fwd
Cuningham
Fogarty
Durdin??… I think so. Certainly to a level that Fogarty is playing.
—————
Curnow
Fisher
Philp

Fwd
Martin
Owies
Motlop
—————
Honey

You could look at those lists & draw the conclusion that we are desperate for that type of player. As many as four list vacancies coming up, at least a couple of the five first team roles are within his wheelhouse.

To that, I would say that Walsh & Kennedy have to fit in somewhere, so five roles suddenly becomes two or three. And, in all likelihood, specialised beyond his capabilities.

i would like us to keep Dow if he agrees on the cheap. With some confidence i think he would be a good contributor.

And if we were to trade him, it shouldnt be on the cheap as well as its obvious what he can do in a game.

Problem with him is between the ears, which we didnt help with much.

And its easy for us to say, he should have taken his chances but the mind is a complex thing.

He does have ability thats for sure.

JSOS - We simply have to keep him. i dont care but we have to. Couldnt bear to see him in another jumper.

Dow is gone - in all likelihood as a DFA.

Walsh, Kennedy, Williams, Durdin. All ahead of him as mid or hybrid options. Carroll, Binns, a draft pick this year & two Camporeales next, all ambitious and on the way up.

The club shouldn’t take any ownership of his mental state. Is it the club’s fault that he’s so comfortable being professionally cucked? At least Stocker was grumpy about his lot.

Dow will take any offer that’s put in front of him - which is why we shouldn’t put one there.

Don't be surprised if we trade Dow Fisher etc for late picks to build up points to trade to GCS for an early pick

I can see us trading next years first round pick and some later picks (maybe SC relief) for GCS first round this year. They have academy kids they don't want to use early picks on

I'd be very happy to go to the draft with 5 & 18 :smoking:

This was the selected side that beat the Pies on Friday night

B: Kemp Weitering Newman
HB: McGovern Marchbank Saad
C: Acres Cripps Hollands
HF: Fogarty Cuningham Cottrell
F: Martin Curnow Pittonet
FOL:De Koning Hewett Docherty
Int: Motlop Cerra Cincotta Owies (Dow)

None of these players should drop away next year. Many should improve

We were missing from possible Best 22
Walsh McKay Williams Kennedy Silvagni Boyd

Then we have coming through that would hopefully pushing for spots next year
Cowan Binns Mirkov C.Durdin Carroll

O'Keefe & Lemmey look good but need another year
S.Durdin good back up

Just need to add a few more for improvement, depth

If we let JSOS go and sign Gresham on $500k I’ll spew up. We’ve got plenty of options for the small - medium forward role. We have literally no one else to play 3rd tall or take second ruck duties. JSOS is one of the most important players on our list for this reason - he enables us to play one ruckman and go with a smaller side with more run

Anyone, Help.
I can't get a straight answer

Please list our Rookies eg Ed Curnow 2023
Which have to be upgraded or Delist?
Which still under contract for 2024?

I know about Akuei as Cat B
I believe there's a next Gen on the horizon, maybe 2024.

Cincotta has been re signed, as a rookie? Yeah?
Mirkov an out of contract rookie?
That's 2 Mid season drafts.

Cottrell and Honey were upgraded from rookie list.

I thought we had 1-2 extra rookies we have to let go to have 44 players on our list.

Thanks in advance.

Cat A
Boyd… 1yr eligibility remaining after this year
Mirkov… 1yr
S. Durdin… 2yr
O’Keeffe… 2yr
Cincotta… 2yr
O’Brien… 1yr
E. Curnow… 2yr

Cat B
Akuei… 1yr

The normal 3yr maximum was increased to four due to covid. But…. Makey uppy.

Cottrell’s time (4yr) was up at the end of last year, so he’s definitely on the main list.

We’re oversubscribed by at least one, possibly two.

With the other posters on JSOS
Much prefer to keep him and lose Gresham if they are anywhere near similar coin. Shaping up to be a fantastic third tall - imagine how good he will be when he gets more reliable with his goal shooting.

yep. JSOS is one of our (several) players who you just wish was as consistent in his form as he is with his effort. it’s always hard to know how much team structures and game plan are impacting individuals. collectively we looked slow and unadventurous for eight rounds this season. but changes to game plan and “tough conversations” bw coaches and the leadership group seem to have flushed the old and brough in a new uncompromising, hard as nails approach which we all love watching, even if it’s not as glamorous as the patches of downhill skiing we saw in 2022 & 2021.

JSOS seems to be one of many who’s individual form has turned, seemingly on the back of collective responsibility for defensive effort and providing options around and forward of the ball. i was willing to let go of JSOS but now he’s shown a lot, a hard keep if possible.
