I got tickets a few weeks ago but have the feeling we will get soundly beaten now unfortunately.

agree.

port were very wasteful in front of the big sticks. pies incredibly accurate from the boundary in the last quarter.

we need to be five goals up at 3 Qtr time to give ourselves a good chance.

Is that 10 injuries in a week for us? From Saturday to Saturday...

McKay
Cripps
Cerra
Martin
C Durdin
Silvagni
Walsh
Motlop
Cincotta?
Dow?

+ Boyd suspension...

It appears no one wants a strong Carlton.

Blues by 52.

I really can't see how we can win this game with the injury list. We literally have half our best 22 out or under a cloud. It's truly [REDACTED].

How about some positivity for once?

Once again, they rode their luck. Port should've had them dead and buried at three quarter time.

And what the hell were they thinking removing the tag from Daicos at three quarter time?

He was involved for 3 goals ffs!

Take your chances. Bring the pressure. And tag Daicos for the WHOLE GAME.

I only saw the last quarter but sure enough, two quick goals and here we go again...

Sure, Elliott's a deadeye but Port could've still snatched the win if they didn't keep going to ground and dropping marks. Were the filth fresher or just more composed?

We need to break the trend of teams soiling their pants at the prospect of the mythical comeback, egged on by the hypermedia. Melbourne did it but almost blew it after seemingly owning the game. The least we can do is show some mettle.

Truly miffed at our injuries. Walsh to miss against the filth once again, when we're up and about (last meeting doesn't count - we were on another planet), Weitering, in all-Aus form going down early in the match the first time we played them last year... Port fluffed it, Brisbane will fluff it away from Brissie, Melbourne who knows? Geelong will run out of gas. We could really take it up to the filthy escape artists if we weren't always breaking down. I want to be optimistic but I think Walsh is vital. :banghead:

I say play our VFL team again... let them have fun next week and don't worry about the result..

Rest up all the injured and get a real crack at it the following week against the Saints!

We can't the Pies with the amount of injuries we have... let's be realistic

Few points worth mentioning:

- Regardless of Injuries, Young has to be dropped or go back to Defense. He was totally useless today in the forward line. No idea how to play Forward. Total Liability.

- Honey was ineffective despite kicking a goal. No impact. I hope Martin replaces him.

- Its time to bring back Marchbank... he has had enough hit outs in the 2's. He can take McGovern's role and then send McGovern forward.

- Bringing back Pitto would make us too heavy and to slow. He is a liability to the way we been playing. Won't help us with his inability to run around the ground.

- Don't Rush back Cerra & Crippa if they are not 100% Fit.

A strengthened Port were so committed , played very exciting football and had a significant home ground advantage, but Pies were overwhelming exuberant, skilled right until the final siren, what a great game of footy.
Next week against the Pies, Baggers will present well and play determined footy, got my fingers crossed , but this game will be a mighty challenge for the boys , given our injuries.

Young crashing into Charlie was enough for me. Go Back to where you came from.

He also said the 3 injuries yesterday are hopefully all minor

Reckon Walsh might miss but otherwise we will be alright

Reckon we can beat the Filth

Two things:

1. Do not discount all the learnings, tactics and strategies being discussed and practiced at Melb, PA, Bris and Geel re. beating Collingwood in the finals. PA have made up 10 goals since their last encounter and I'm not going to be paralysed by the MCG, home ground narrative. It's there, but it's not insurmountable

2. Re Carlton next week...doubt we win...doubt it very much...always live in hope. Let's not forget in-game injuries hurt a team 10X more than injuries from the previous week. Play 23 fit players, hope for no more in-game injuries and you just never know

PS. I would rotate Cincotta and Cotterel on Nick Daicos. They are both psychotic with intensity and mindset and need to tackle Daicos with intent. They need to practice tackling below the elbow AND/OR practice the two-action tackle...first action is to clasp and second is to instantaneously slide down the arn or use one arm to punch downwards as an attempt to remove possession
