It feels like the issue with Young is that he can’t or hasn’t learnt to play along side Weits or he can’t play the role assigned to him when Weits is in the side. Either way, last year his best was when he played the key defensive role. My thoughts are play him along side Weits, get the chemistry going and rotate the roles.
That’s gonna be tough there is no chemistry Weitering plays a lot better when young isn’t around unfortunately that’s the equation
Not a true reflection of the success of a relationship that started last year in round 3.
I think you're highlighting 2-3 weeks where young lost form recently and through a blanket over the rest of their time together.
They played together in the first 10 rounds when I thought Young carried the backline for best of 6 games, whilst Weiters was out of form.
Weiters also lost form last year after he did his shoulder.
I don't understand how so many have forgotten about the good Young, the in form Young who kept things simple and looked good.
Some have suggested Weiters and Young had a fallout based on body language after losses. More bullshit.
Form is something that comes and goes.
There was plenty of discussion amongst Carlton posters/ fans to drop Cripps who has been badly out of form, but no one wrote Cripps off like theyre doing with Young.
Just remember, for all Young's faults, all we have as back up around his height is the injury prone Sam Durdin who looked a bit rusty in the air on Saturday.
