Thomas Anastasopolous.

After 100 games, he’d get his name on locker - and the one next to it.

I'd recruit him if only to leave BT so tongue tied he can't do Roaming.
He'd just call him The Greek.

Today proved to me again we aren't that far away but need a list refresh to add some young class and speed and to fill a few holes.

Big, important trade period coming up.

What a difference a week (or two) makes.

Martin has bought himself some time and is worth persisting with to see if he can regain and maintain match fitness.

Cunningham and Fogarty, whilst not outstanding today (not that they need to be), might be important to team balance due to their pace.

There also might be a method to the madness of slowly reintroducing Dow to AFL footy? Maybe we've learnt from the prior mistake of throwing him back into the deep end? This is obviously speculation on my part, but I think it's an interesting theory.

A lot of people already had a line through Martin, Cunningham, and Fogarty, but I think all three are still very much a chance to save their spot.

If the season ended today, who goes?

I think LOB is top of the list now.

Maybe Marchbank, but it seems they are giving Martin and Cunningham every chance to get back in the team, so I wouldn't write him off just yet.

Plowman?

Ed?

Maybe that's it?

I really hope this post doesn't age like milk, especially considering we have Hawthorn in a couple of weeks. :P

Marchbank Philp probably Plow gone off the list

Cunningham and Martin need to show some continuity by being ininjured in the seniors before we start planning to have them long term

Martin's contract is until Nov 2024 isn't it? So no need to make a call on him yet.

So, no more need to contemplate 7-10 delistings and trades?

Cuningham yes. Fog is an inside mid or defensive forward. Good tackler. No pace. No long kicks. Smart. Fitted in well today. Deserved his chance.

Looks to me, the Footy Dept is giving them all 10 weeks to see if their body withstands the heat of AFL footy. We havent see Marchy, so he's top of the list, with Philp, for now. Philp will turn 22yo next year. Does that help Philp?

Yep 10 weeks for everyone Marchbank and philp both running out of weeks
Thought Cunningham Fogarty and Dow might have run out of runway too but at least have the opportunity now

Cant see unless either Philp or Marchbank play senior footy this year being retained given llng term injuries to lots of our list has caused us problems in the last 2 years

Not sure Plowman will be retained either but he has been a lot more durable than the other 2
Ed cant posdibly be retained

Agree

My point is anything can happen. Have a look at our view of Cuners and Martin, and even Fog. Marchy will get a go, and the end of the year in 3 months their future will be decided. Right now, its a moving target imo. That's all.

Yes and yes . Far too early to be discussing delistings and trades . Plenty of water to go under the bridge yet ................... but i tell you one thing , i would be signing big Tom and Kempy quick smart . The coat pullers are blowing wind up Tom's arse . Flattery is nice but it is false flattery . They will piss in his pocket only for themselves not for Toms sake . Don't be a mug Tom , don't tumble into those narrow and shallow sweet talkers . Tom , your future is with the mighty Carlton Football Club . Stick around , you won't regret it . Kempy will stay . He knows which side his bread is buttered on .

i think so ... cunners and dow better balance our midfield with one of kennedy or hewitt.

Marchbank is needed and can play. He is the one we just need to get right. 1 year contracts don’t bite.

Still needs to happen IMO

Cuningham needs to stay fit. Philp Ed Curnow Marchbank Plowman Fisher Honey need to go. Still need to trade McGovern & TDK and there are a few others that have 8 weeks to prove themselves

27 at the start of 2024 and 52 games in 9 seasons.

Can play but just can't get on the park. At best I would give him a pre season and if he gets through offer him a rookie spot

Agreed. If he shows even the slightest sign of still being able to play at AFL level and gets through the rest of the season without another injury, you've gotta give him one more year.

He's too good to give up on that easily.
