The OP is just the messenger so thanks for that but the response is more PC than the man himself or what I am bashing on at home at the moment. Id have thought next years results might have something to do with how he goes with a contract extension.

Got 5 minutes with him as part of the prize, here’s the cliff notes.

Voss will be coach and beyond this contract. Players love him.

He’s not injured, just playing poorly.

Club is tight, everyone moving as one.

Probably politically correct answers but that’s what he said.

Good onya Des.
Thanks for sharing.
I know the answers were PC, and what we want to hear.
What was your gut feel having witnessed his body language when answering your questions?

We repeatedly hear that the playing group is close, the players love Voss, Voss will see out his contract that I'm starting to believe it.

Either we're league leaders in toeing the party line or its actually true.

He comes across as very genuine. I’d believe that at a minimum, that’s his perspective.

He got asked if he thought he was lucky to get off for his hit v Lions, his response was simply to laugh.

So he didn’t dodge the questions around the club, or his performance, but didn’t answer that.

Maybe he should have gone and played poker afterwards!

Cripps never admitted he was injured a few years ago either, but he was as we all found out later.

Every time I listen to him, I feel he knows what he is talking about and I just can't stop that feeling.
Therefore, he either has no idea how to fix it or is being let down by his assistance. My money is on the latter.

Not great when Voss said he's battling an ankle issue.... May want to text each other to keep the story straight

As for Voss, at least we're seeing some variations in the last few games, BUT the players still seem lost.
That extra second, extra two steps, extra look around equals pressure, errors, leads lost, loose players get covered, poorer options into the pockets etc..... which sums up where we're at.

To me, Voss and team have a game plan and strategies, if he can coach depends on how he can get players to understand and execute

Go Blues

Go Blues

You're a legend billc3.

That sets a scene, and you're spot on.

This year there is more than any of the usual hesitation going on with the players in the Navy Blue.
Game plan vs player confidence to execute? = ability of players?
Conundrum

Maybe its a 3 year recipe
I reckon dropping Ed after playing his role last 2 weeks is a tough decision.
Dropping the hesitant fumbly Young ie out of form, and risking height advantage is a courageous decision for a coach.
He doesnt like what Dow brings. I don't blame him, but what's there to lose? Vossy believes in finals.

Maybe it's like Clarkson in his first years when his team was being smashed.
He was defending the way he wanted them to play despite the hammerings they were getting
They didn't look any better than under Schwab for a while
Obvious in hindsight but not so at the time

its nothing but hope ... but im hope we are going through a similair stage as to other clubs ..

really, and it is stats ... but statswise we are in a position to win nearly every game ... our effeciency with ball in hand is what is killing us.

get that right, and its suddenly 16.6 not 6.15, its 15.6 not 6.15 etc..

honestly, id pay whatever choco williams wants .. he seems to have done amazing things with melbourne and their skill level.

that is what we need to increase ...

Thats right Scott , we are not a million miles off . Seems like it though ........................ if we need a wise old head around the joint i would be bringing Ratts back . A perfect second banana . Ratts aint gonna backstab no one . Reckon Vossy could cop Ratts but not so sure about Choco . Besides i wouldn't want Choco within a million miles of the joint . Remember when we had Daniel Shiel virtually all sown up and ready to go . Guess who torpedoed the deal on the death knock , yep , none other than Choco himself . Nah , keep the rat out of the joint .

whoever, just as long as its someone who can fix our skills ... its our execution time and time again that lets us down .. and i honestly cant see how that can be the sole responsibility of the coach ...

Correct. Teams go through stages of inaccuracy unfortunately. It becomes contagious and players lose confidence as a result. Choco is at the Demons and they kicked 8.18 last week. It's as much what's between the players ears. Not who is teaching them. As for our accuracy, I agree, we could come out and kick 12.6 tomorrow. If you're technically OK, you're 1 game away from regaining confidence.
But also that's why I'd rest Harry for a few weeks and just focus purely on his kicking. He's technically poor.
