I don’t understand all the calls for McGovern to move back the the forward line, has everyone forgotten what a bust he was there? I can’t remember him ever having any good games as a forward for Carlton.

If he can’t be effective as a defender then just drop him to vfl.

Played some good games as a forward in 2020

The ball wasnt getting anywhere near the forwardline when he was one of the 2 KPF's whilst Charlie was missing for 2 years. He's not a KPF.

Whose place would he be taking? SOS? If Pitto is back, TDK?

He's not setting the world on fire as an intercept mark. Has great foot skills but he needs the footy to display those.

Gotta try something, and I prefer Gov as the 3rd tall than SOS, TDK (who competes in the same air space with Harry and Charlie).

Lemmey and O'Keefe are not even close.

Sunday games are the best because we have to name a squad and people get two chances to lose their shit about it.

With everything going on I’d forgotten we even play games.

If JSOS is injured (I haven’t heard either way) then one of Kemp or McGovern to move forward.

I don’t really care who comes in or goes out, probably won’t make a lot of difference.

My thoughts this season are that Brackets, like too many others, is playing within himself. That’s not to say that his motivations are purely self preservation. In fact, his production is as good, if not better compared to last year (albeit only 18 games in total).

The problem is that it’s not enough. He’s got the intercept numbers of a half back flank, but the possession numbers of a full back.

If he’s going to work out in that spot, he’s got to be more than one link in the scoring chain. Otherwise, we may as well put a runner in there and use that to shift the opposition and drive the ball inside 50.

Good post.

I look at his output and get the feeling he's in preservation mode.

Put it this way.
How will he get a lucrative contract if he is injured?

So he's doing us a favour then. Won't (and shouldn't) be at Carlton next year.

I'd have Binns in for OBrien

I had to laugh when my 15yo said facetiously "did OBrien polay?

73% Game Time on a wing for 9 disposals and 200m gained from 7 kicks = 30 metre passes at 63% DeF

What a waste of space LOB was on his return to the team. VFL player at best.

Time for Binns with Hollands out.

I'm guessing youre assuming Pitto and SOS will be out this week, hence Harry in ruck with TDK?

Who does Fogarty, Binns and Dow replace for you?

My reasoning is I would like to see Kemp develop as third defender, McGovern gives another genuine option to Charlie & McKay and is mobile

Use Binns to take the trash out?

O'Brien Cottrell Motlop maybe Fisher

I'd like:

B: Boyd Young Kemp
HB: Docherty Weitering Saad
C:Acres Cripps Binns
HF: Fogarty McKay Walsh
F: McGovern Charlie Owies
Foll: TDK Kennedy Cerra
Int: Dow Fisher Cincotta Marchbank (Cottrell)

It just means that Non-Carlton members can't buy tickets.

I dare say a crapload of Carlton GA members won't turn up, would be surprised if we break 70k tbh.

70k would be outstanding. It’s going to be cold and miserable.
