The margin was the talent difference.

The pleasing thing was our effort and it translated to the margin.

Like what I see of Cincotta. Love his one hand pick ups at speed and his follow up to help run the ball out of defence. Plays like he belongs.

Gerard Healy mentioned that we were moving the ball quickly.
He said why wouldn't we with the 2 talls up forward.
Something we have all been saying.

I won’t get too excited but really pleased with the side’s intent of moving the ball forward at all costs

Hopefully it provides a much needed confidence boost

Next week’s game will tell us more

Without seeing any of the game we did what was needed and won the 4 points.

That’s a message to all those doomsayers.
I know who we played.
Some predicted a loss
Some said Voss has lost the plot with his arrogance towards the obvious
Some said we are too slow.
Add Doc and Saad and a bit of pepper from Crippa and Hewett, and let Cerra and Walsh give us the glue

KPFs did their bit with 12 or 13.
Smalls kicked a couple
Mids finally gave us goals.
And what have we got

A team that can challenge.

We needed a chance to click
We should’ve beaten the Saints
Go Blues

OMG you are so clueless it makes me laugh

Relax mate, it’s only round 7,
A win is a win.
You wouldn’t be looking for joy if you didn’t enjoy that.
I did, and so did the party.

Amazing, and showed what we can do when we play fast direct footy.

Anyone know why Durds got so emotional, had a tear when he kicked the last goal?

He pointed to his armband so must be a death close to him.

He was apparently close to the footballer who died in SA.

First relaxing game I've sat and watched for a long time. Did what we should have done and crushed a weak opposition. Now the real tests start. A really tough 6 weeks coming up. Our season is decided in the next month and a half.

Pros
Charlie simply awesome.
Positive ball movement with plenty of run which had been missing.
Cripps was dominant in the middle.
Cincotta belongs at AFL level. Just rapt for him
Kemp did well for the most part. One poor kick cost a goal, but otherwise solid. Much prefer him to Plowman
Pitto makes a massive difference to the clearances
Finally put a poor team to the sword
Doc and Saad

Cons
Harry's goal kicking is diabolical at the moment. Confidence at an all time low.
Easy to get sucked in by the dominance and scoreline... don't.

Next week will be a big test. Hopefully we are feeling a bit better about ourselves

This. Good win - very happy with a lot of things and a real confidence boost but WC are struggling in so many areas.
We have 5 games coming that will define our season.

Just to add Kemp and Cincotta don't look out of place at all. :smoking:

My gosh the opposition was weak. We concentrated all night though, remained focused. That was the most pleasing bit for me, that there was no period of the game where the other side got their usual run against us.

Kennedy looked like he was entering a close game when he came on, with his attack on the ball. Fantastic, well done bam bam for keeping your chin up & showing the way, wouldn't have expected any less.

Ya know….

i don’t care about the opposition…when we were crap
teams bullied us…tonight was our turn…the boys did everything
right…!

moved it nice and fast…and trounced them…!

108pts is bloody good…a ten goal win would’ve been good…18 goals
is fantastic…AND to kick 23 goals form the night too…!

moments of playing like millionaires…but that’s what enabled
the big win…!

Pitto…how about it…Cerra…Captain my Captain…Acres…Jacob was
better…Walsh…!

IF…we have changes next week…it will probably come from either
Honey…Ed…Fish…or mayyyybe SOS…clearly not all four…but FROM
these four…and that’s if…!

Hollands was better…do we rest him…or let him go whilst
he’s improving…hard to say…!

hey….well coached crazy Vossy…!

kindest regards tommi

highlight for the night…the lovely company of Cee Kay…
we ate out in…he drank Portello…i drank apple juice and green
tea…!

and of COURSE there were biscuits…we’re not HEATHENS…!

That was fun.

Positives:

Finally managed to put a side away.
Opposition not very good, but still a complete performance. Good spread of goalkickers.
Looked much quicker with the additions of Saad, Docherty and Kemp. Ball movement much better.
Charlie, Acres, Hewett, Cerra, Cripps, Walsh.
Kemp's best game.
Looks like we've found one in Cincotta.
Has SOJ every kicked 3 goals before?
Thought Durdin was pretty good as well.
Good last quarter from Kennedy.
Think we needed a confidence boost, and surely that will have provided it for us.

Negatives:

Harry was very good and his pressure was excellent. But he's still struggling with his set shots. Could easily have kicked 5-6 today.
Had a pretty good run with the umps the last 2 weeks. Not so today.

Uncontested possessions
307 to 159
Played witches hats
We won contested possession and clearance obviously
When we break even or lose in these two stat areas but win a game I’ll get mildly excited
The next 6 weeks will tell us where we are at
Teams that play North and/or West Coast twice have an unfair advantage over the rest of the competition
The draw as I have said before is [REDACTED] and this season is the best example of this
When the Tasmanian team comes in the competition should go back to 18 rounds
But that won’t happen

I agree with your point about Tasmania.

No one in the AFL commission will have the guts to do what is good for the competition and cease the endless expansion… at least for 10 years. What is the hurry?

There will be at least 3-4 dead rubber matches per week and more players will be willing to take pay cuts to get to Geelong & Collingwood.
Then free agency as well adds to the one way commute of the top players.

Disaster.
There are nearly as many people living in Canberra as the whole of Tasmania.
One team in the comp already should commit to Tasy more substantially for 10 yrs.
Eg GWS has made a commitment to Canberra.
That seems genuine.

There isn’t an NFL, NBA or any other major sports team in the state of Rhode Island cause there isn’t the population to support it.
NFL would not make the mistake the AFL is about to make.

When did SPS actually learn to hit like that, cant recall that aggression with us!

I just liked us hitting forwards on a lead, it happened so much last night I thought it was the 90s again

Nice win. Anyone else watch the score in the bottom right corner of the screen and cheer on us beating WSC more than Melb beat North? Added a little fun to the proceedings :)
