Every year I've had to listen to all his supporters on this site mention his lethal left foot.
Biggest myth in football

Same PR team as the Paddy Dow ‘burst speed’ campaign.

Looking at accuracy (efficiency), distance travelled and able to kick using the left and right feet (not at once though) we only have one. McGovern! Clearly our number 1 in kicking by streets.

Id have thought Newman was one of the better kicks, just doesn't do enough with it. Setanta hairpin great at kicking blokes on the ground hee hee

According to AFL stats our top players (who have played more than 1 game) in order are:
Saad
McGovern
Weitering
Newman
Young
Cerra - first mid at 75.9%
Cowan
Hewett
Kennedy

I also seen Stocker is 78.5%, too bad he had the wrong attitude for us.

Best field kicking players who take the risky kick and can hit the targets for me are McGovern, Saad, Charlie, Williams and LOB (when in space).
Weitering, Newman, Walsh, Kennedy, Cerra and Hewett would be next on my list.
From memory Boyd last season did some nice things by foot also.

Not enough reliable/daring kicks to play the new defensive/possession style we are trying to play.
We will always come undone as a result.

Can people please stop mentioning LOB.
His first kick for a lethal left foot was Out of bounds on the FULL and that's after taking a mark so how much more space and time does he need. It seems like everyone has an out for him like 'Oh when he's in space '
Of course anyone can hit targets when given time and space please enough.
How many more excuses do we need to give him before everyone on here realise he isn't AFL standard pure and simple.
Biggest myth in the AFL.......
Lochie O'Brien has a lethal left foot.

Might want to take those blinkers off.
Clearly from the weekend, most of the team are unable to do this when in space.
LOB keeps getting mentioned because for all his other flaws he has a great action and can hit more difficult targets than most of the team.
And this doesn't make him, McGovern, Saad etc immune from clangers either.
You can't wish that away because you don't like him.

I absolutely sort of partially agree with a reasonable proportion of what you offer.

I think we should get a couple of our best kicks to give the rest of the team (& coaches and prob the whole footy department) a good good kick up the bum…

Next draft we should go the Hawthorn route: players who can kick

Yep. We still need speed through the middle, but hitting a target at full pace is always more valuable than winning a foot race.
