Voss game plan is very similar to the lions when coaching there
and we know what happened there I have doubts about he’s coaching ability
and selection of some players
Just a normal Carlton season all talk suck us all in again

How on earth do you lose this game

Questions need to be asked of Clarke and Hansen

Game Plan
Bombing it forward
Poor skills
Or players playing for stats and not as a team

Can't bat, can't bowl!!!!

Damn we play some rubbish football.

Our bottom 6 were just so poor today. If Dow doesn't get a game next week he should asked to be put in the mid season draft.

He's a question for you all...........................Over his career, will Harry win or lose us more games?

Skills and Decision making. Back to the drawing board.

It is a joke Harry can't kick drop punt from 20m out.

But the coaches need to take some blame for this. Where's the development? The positive reinforcement?

He's 25.
Charlie is 26.

They're not young anymore.

The clock is ticking.

Cripps hasn't played a final.

Right now this club isn't going forwards in my view.

How can you have so many players dominate the stats and lose by that margin? That tells me the main issue is coaching.

Game plan
Selections.
Player development.

I thought that went as well as could be expected. The Saints have far too much running power for Carlton. That combined with Lyons always difficult to play against games style left us with no real chance.
They are a good team. Why was it that Carlton didnt get Lyon?
I liked Cerra's game. Walsh was good. I liked Cincotta but thought he lacked second efforts.
I think Carlton will win a few more games this year. Finish somewhere in the top 12.
Then Carlton have to re assess what we are doing and where we are thinking the game is heading. More running power is must to balance out the 23. Need to be able to defend better as a team and for longer.
For that the 23 needs more players with great running numbers in the pre season.

I thought the Saints had a very even contribution across the park. Names like Byrnes Cordy Paton Ross etc all do their bit. We fall away badly.

JSOS miss was the turning point.

The slow, chip around bullshit game is NOT WORKING.

At the game it absolutely felt like the turning point. JSOS has been missing those easy ones his whole career. Love the guy but geez that miss hurt us.

On occasion when we did move the ball quickly on transition, the crowd noise built and then the collective ‘ohhhh’ as we bombed it 60m to a congested forward line. It either bounced out or we botched the shot at goal.
When StK kicked it forward, it invariably was a 20-30m pass t a leading forward 30-40m out (just like Adelaide last week).

I don't like the whole attitude of : '' see I was the first person on TC to say 'Sak Voss!'' - what prize does that win?

But I'm struggling to understand why we have slumped and changed direction so badly... Things were looking promising

Not so much the players it is the game plan. The aints prove that.

Today we moved the ball well up to the centre / half forward lines. Then bomb it long in the hope Charlie or Harry can get on the end of it. If it is one on one, good idea. If it is flooded bad idea.

Why not have a plan B where we chip it around, the forwards move around, untjl an opening is found. When was the last time we did that as a deliberate plan? All our forwards are mobile up to big H.

they allowed us to move it up to the back half, they flooded our forward line, brought it to ground then spread and killed us on the rebound and with speed.

interesting concept vossy, no

Saints have a plan and stuck to it, we had a plan based on our available talent which would of kept us in the game - but our plan relies on kicking straight, oh and executing well.

Dow had 40 possessions today ... but we don't reward consistent good form

It's time to say it. We had Ross. We decided to run a "process" and lost Ross in the process and the process has produced yet another @#$%&! up. Another coach that isn't good enough. And yet another failed rebuild. We'll trod along in mediocrity for another 18 months. Finally realise we've [REDACTED] it up yet again. Sack Voss. Run another process and probably blow it all up and start all over again. We're not playing finals for another generation.

I don't think it would matter who was coaching this team. The playing list isn't down to Voss (yet). Carlton are coach killers. Ross must be thanking his lucky stars that he didn't end up coaching us. I really believe our ongoing lack of success is in large part down to our recruiters. Too many who can't kick, too many who are injury prone (many on large, long term contracts), too many who are built like scrawny 14 year olds, too many who are too slow, too many who are soft as butter when the pressure is on. Look at Hawthorn in their recent glory days; chock full of players who were hard as nails and good users of the ball. I despair of this club.

excellent points but vossand the coaching staff are to blame for the game plan, player grow and selection

I saw today that unfortunately Ed Curnow is done.

He played on Sinclair early and couldn't keep up. Tried but the body wouldn't allow it.

Needs to retire before mid season and give us a spot for draft

I noticed that too.
He has been such a good servant to the club and I hope he goes out on his terms.
