Our positioning at centre bounces is bizarre. Cripps starts 10 metres from the ruckman and allows his opponent ball side to block him out. NM and Adelaide have done it well. It's very unusual for the ball to fall outside a 3m diameter of the rucks and Cripps is allowing himself to be shielded from that zone. His strength is working in the space and taking the ball on the move. LDU has become a great exponent of the art.
I'm unsure if it's instruction or strange decision making on Crippa's behalf but he needs to sort it out asap. We should have him taking he inside ball, a defensive cover and a negator. Why complicate it?

Noticed that...absolutely mind boggling

And by the way, our lack of leg speed is not a myth BUT, all teams look faster when their inside mids can get the ball out to someone on the outside who has even just 1-2 seconds to put it I50

David King said yesterday that we are 17th for clearances this year. 17th!!!!. We are "looking" slower than we really are because our inside mids (who we think are our weapon) are actually a big part of our problem

Young and Weitering to share interceptor role with Young doing the ruck chop out.

Raffle the other changes, don’t see McGovern being fit this side of the break

I wouldn't be bringing in another tall defender against the Saints. They don't have a tall forward line.

Maybe not but I think Membrey is likely to come in. He's got a good leap on him. From a standing start.

I think he’s looking for the exclusive naming rights.

need our forwards to NOT let saints defenders to run out the ball with ease ,cause teams like coll and now saints it all starts with defence PRESSURE is priority. One more Wilkie intercept mark can someone run him around away from fullback possie.

That was to drop a tall(ish) and a ruck for one tall and a runner. Got to have some depth on the team, this is Carlton

Our entire centre clearance game is built around Cripps, when the opposition stop Cripps we have no plan b, we just keep trying to get it to Cripps.

That’s because our whole game plan is based on Voss, when it fails we have no plan

On the back of 25 kicks 12 handballs 8 marks

We're lacking run and kicking skills if he's not selected at 26 years of age it's quite mind boggling .

Agree with others that Dow needs to play, despite the fact that I don't expect him to play any better than the Collingwood game last year.

Heads need to roll after that tripe.

Fisher has to be one of them.

I would be bringing Sam Durdin in and put Lewis Young in the ruck . Reckon Young could play in the manner of Mark Blicavs . Young did well when he went into the ruck last year . Our rucks are in a slump and i reckon thats a big reason our midfield is struggling .Selectors need to show a bit of dare .

Dare, now there's something I'm not associating with Carlton any more....

No Saad

At least we will be less predictable.

Or get completely destroyed in our back half.

Chip to the pocket - bomb it long down the line to our half back line. Ross the Boss will have a field day picking that apart.

Bring on the dare I say….been lacking for many years…..

I like the idea of Young in the ruck.

TDK on a wing

Give Kemp a go covering Saad’s role

Dow - reward him

Do the right thing by dropping Fish - had he ever played 2’s?

Make a call on honey - he is either in or not. I’m not convinced…..maybe he isn’t either given he’s in and out like a yo yo.

If our example of plan B continues with Kennedy off Hb, SOS in the ruck…,.Gee willickers….

So, as things stand:
Out: Saad, Fisher, Plowman
In: Cincotta, Dow, Kemp (if McGovern does not make it back)
LOB to replace Honey as sub - we may need his run later in the game. (Does this mean Honey is listed as 'Out' - not sure how that all works these days...?)

Hopefully Cincotta can play his role reasonably well. Not expecting him to be able to fill Saad's shoes, esp with Docherty also out and likely McGovern too.
This will be a very depleted team. Our running backline is decimated and we will ned our mids to absolutely dominate and also to run back hard, fast and throughout the whole match to support.

I seriously hope we have a good plan to provide options in our forward line. On a positive note, we have a lot of practice kicking into a clogged up forward line this season, so we should feel pretty well prepared for a Ross Lyon defence.

Two key players we need to hold are Sinclair and Marshall. And then if Steele comes back, just make sure he doesn't get into the game.
Not sure how to keep Sinclair in check - would be good if we had a top line half forward who was threatening enough to drag him away from the action but we don't really.
We need to double team Marshall, like Essendon* did to Grundy last week.

Big test for Voss, up against Lyon. Can't say I'm confident
