Hewett rested absolutely irrespective of the circumstances.

Cowan - I'd probably look to give him a week off too, make the most of the decent break before the Saints game on the Sunday after. VFL play the night after the Crows game - so I suppose, a good win with no injuries, you'd consider giving him a half in the VFL to try and get his spot back.

What I'm reading Galty is you're omitting Cowan and giving him a chance to win his spot back through the ressies.

I'm assuming you have kept Doc in the back 6 and the 7th defender becomes......Cincotta?

I'm suggesting there should be some selection integrity if we've rested a player and then perhaps loses his spot through no fault of his own, and then aren't given an opportunity to put a case forward.

Having said that, I don't expect us to win on Thursday, and it's been a while since we've escaped a week injury free, so I suspect its a moot point.

Not if I saw you first! Wait...

Ok, I 've forgotten completely how to steer this ship and the colour scheme is hurting!
But lovely to see lots of names I know.
Walshy and Acres back.
Kennedy probably...
Maybe McKay out.
Still think we've got this.
First week I've been confident.

You know that’s what Carlton does? We excel at hope.
Not so good on the follow through…
Walsh Kennedy acres in
Lob, Carroll, Ed out - unless George still not right.
If harry out I would be tempted to add Dow and have Cripps spend more time forward and playing walsh on HFF. Dow part of midfield rotation or add plow and push Doc into midfield

As a random thought, would plow be any good at half forward cf Duigan?

You'd pull our best extractor and biggest body, a pure midfielder, out of the guts and give him extra forward minutes in exchange for Dow?

Against a midfield that's up and about and winning a lot of contested ball?

?

What is there to consider?
I suspect we've decided/informed the AFL but we can't say anything until their deadline has passed.

If you asked me, I'd say a BIG NO, but I get the height Cripps brings. Jack Kennedy and Charlie are ok in the air. One day one will stick for SOS and it will become a poster.

Harry can't be suspended for a brush of the shoulder. Michael Christian likes his name in the media. If only he knew what is said bout him...I mean flower.

What do you reckon bondi? Do we match up well against the Crows?

This'll be my first live game this year - been super busy - looking forward to taking in the structures and tactics live for a change.

Particularly keen to see a certain Josh Rachele run around. Been wanting him on our list for a while. Massive Carlton supporter. I'd even consider trading C. Durdin back to S.A and throw in a first round pick to get him in Navy Blue.

North Melbourne v Carlton

1 Jacob Weitering (CARL)
1 Luke Davies-Uniacke (NMFC)

Good sign for Fisher.

I guess that settles the drop Fisher this week argument.

No argument. Just fielding possibilities, and what happens when theres pressure for spots.
Fisher might be Sub. I dont care if he is or isnt.

Its a given that LOB and Honey are omitted for Walsh and Acres. But with Kennedy returning, the debate thus far has seen the following omissions suggested if Fisher stays in the 22:

Cowan (give him a break/ rest)
Ed Curnow (we dont need a tagger)
Hewett (needs a rest after 2 below par games we won)

I think the above are really important pieces, unless Cincotta replaces Cowan as the 7th defender. Conundrum.

It was a game of 2 halves, and Fish was good in 2nd half.
Intrigued to see the ins and outs.
For sure you'd think Lob and Honey.

I am so envious, and was too late with the reserve seating. Box is full.

Rachele makes me drool. Carlton supporter growing up. He will be ripe for our 4th Cup in a row.
We will let Hewett return home to SA in 4 years. Good deal. Yeah, I'd throw in another SA player, Durdin, even throw in Dow, LOB, Fisher and Fogarty....Cuningham. We have the necessary assetts. Throw in a round 2 pick in too, or just Next Years round 1 & 2. Dont get me started.

On Friday, I watched last years game when Crows beat us. We had Hewett, Williams and Boyd out injured and lost during the game: Kennedy (after 3/4 GT) and Durdin (1/4 time)
Cripps Walsh and Cerra had to do it all on their own: Setterfield Cottrell and LOB failed on wings.

I thought Crows were hot and tough at the contest, and last 2 games Crows midfield group and pressure from their smalls reminds me of us. They are the real deal. We match up well.

This week we have the Feb 5 together and we will throw in Doc at times. Fab 6. 2 rucks to feed them, and a team desperate to make amends for last year's half hearted effort. Its a luxury for us to have outside run from Cerra, Doc and Walsh this week. We will not be beaten in the midfield with the help of 2 rucks. Did I mention TDK is a ruck rover after the contest: Fab 7. Do we hear me?

Harry will play till he isnt. Cant happen. Charlie will play and Weiters and Young are in rare form. Add Gov. Our small forwards who were relentless and looked like they clicked in the 2nd half. Our KPFs will be the difference, and Motlop to kick a bag.

This year we have the wings sorted: Acres and Hollands.

We will win because the players know they have to bring smiles on the faces of 30,000 Carlton fans who will be there, let alone the 200,000 Carlton fans who will be watching them on TV.

This is huge. Top of the ladder at stake. Then, this sets up Top of Table clash vs saints at our HOME game packed with Carlton mad fans at the Dome. One week at a Time.

This week is huge. Sets up our season.

Ah it warms the heart when the old names return. (Old names, not old people!)
Great to see you back BG.
I'm always wishing the best for posters when they disappear so it's great to see you back with a bit of pep in your step.
