Fisher won't be dropped, nor should he be. He was rightly criticised last week for being passive, and this week he amassed >25 possessions including a load of contested. Made plenty of mistakes and wasn't exactly stellar but it would send the wrong message to drop him after addressing his chief flaw so decisively.

Agreed there seems to be no route to selection for Dow... if Walsh and Kennedy are returning then where would he fit?

Jon Ralph trying his best to get H suspended for a hit on Sheezel. Anyone see it? Should we be worried?

That's a terrible thing for Ralphy to do.

Nothing to see.

Harry pulled out. He was bracing himself and pulled up.

Did Ralphy say he's in a bit of trouble or did he say the MRO will look at this.

They are all shitting themselves over the rise of the Blue Army, when we will be in his face full of arrogance to give him something Real to hate. @#$%&! him.

I am a little worried about the hit, tbh.

I'd keep playing Carroll. He showed a lot in his first handful of games and we haven't seen him since. He was dropped because it was becoming a tad embarrassing.

Can we develop him elsewhere on the ground, I think he might be one of those players that actually does better in the seniors than in the magoos.

All you have to do is take a look at the injury list. It was 10 injured this week. That paved the way for him to have a look as the Sub.

We have Walsh, Kennedy and Acres back. Martin too, but I suspect he will be in the reserves, not the sub.

When Boyd and Cottrell are back in 4-5 weeks, Boyd will take the BP as a running defender with a GOOD kick on him, and Doc will be released into the midfield. Cottreel at worst will be the Sub Specialist.

I cant see room for Carroll TBH. Do you know who Carroll's opponent was in the last when he came on and played the wing? Whilst Carroll chased kicks and got 5 disposals, North had loose men everywhere and kicked 4 goals.

He's been playing outside mid and being fed by Dow. I do prefer Carroll as a footballer than LOB, so he's in the picture.

Like Honey, I'm glad he's given a taste here and there to keep him aware of what it takes to play senior footy let alone 4 quarters.

Went into the middle and gave us some run as well. I was critical of Fisher last week but he was good yesterday.

Assuming Owies needs another week, that Martin comes back via the VFL, and that McGovern & Harry are available….

B: Newman Young McGovern

C: Acres Cripps Hollands
HF: Walsh Charlie Motlop
F: C.Durdin Harry SOJ

R: TDK Hewitt Cerra
Inter: Cowan Fisher Kennedy Pittonet
Sub: E.Curnow

In - Acres, Kennedy, Walsh
Out - Carroll, Honey, LOB

Hewitt has been so-so over the past couple of weeks (he only had 25 metres gained today!) - he is due a good game. If he’s carrying an injury and needs a week off, then Ed stays in the 22 and LOB is sub.

You thought Hewett in a glove was so and so last week against GWS?

We would have got smashed if Hewett didnt play last week.

Did you notice who the inside mids were first half, no rotations, taking a battering? Hewett and Cerra whilst Crippa kept that dangerous bull Cunningham at bay. Cunningham did get them a few times. Wasnt an off game because of form.

You kept Fisher in because he had 28 possessions?

I dont know who does the stats at afl.com but Fisher didnt have any frees against in that table. That's wrong.

Fisher and LOB were on the cusp of being dropped because of their form thus far this year. Ed has been much more consistent, more reliable, and harder in the contest than Fisher. If anything, Fisher should count his lucky stars hes sub and that's only because I too think Voss expects Martin to prove he can play 4 quarters and will come through the reserves.

Fisher doesnt hurt the opposition enough. He played ok, but I saw the same weaknesses and shortfalls required to play contested Finals like footy.

He was going to play despite his pec strain, but it was suspension that kept him out vs North.

Voss stated Acres return with glee

Ed is not a Sub.
He will take care of Laird.

Carroll to Sub again...

Interesting to see if McGovern gets up ?

We need a tagger we can rely on.
Its a tool in the shed we need to use when we need to use it and Laird is the reason.

They're going to keep using this potential to cause injury nonsense. I reckon Harry will get a week

Yet the fend off that gave Cerra a black eye is ok?

Thanks sinners.
Some sense.

And I'd take Plowman and Cincotta over as emergencies. Let Dow, Carroll, LOB, etc. play full games in the seconds.

Youre kidding about Walsh

Walsh has been ready to play 4 quarters for 3 weeks.
He aint going to be happy with all this conservative approach to his availability if he's picked as the sub.

He will never play resreves from Vossy's reaction to the question. I'd say he'd think the same about Walsh as the sub

I wouldn't be so sure about that. He wasnt that good. 28 possessions. He asks for the ball when he's in a worse position than the player with the mark/ free. He is playing desperate to get possessions. Its what he does and doesnt do with them that will be debated within ther MC.

Have a look at the blokes coming in and they will be pushing out

Acres > LOB ...wing
Walsh> Honey ... HHF
Kennedy> Fisher ... mid
Fisher?>Carroll ... sub

That's not an impossible scenario.

Fisher OK game this week (just) vs Ed's consistency. Who tags Laird?

Fisher hasn't only played one bad game last week. He's been below average all year getting brushed aside like an autumn leaf, constantly falling to the ground.

WE dont bat too deep. I'm a fan of Fisher as a depth player but I could not rely on Fisher in a tough physical game like its going to be in Finals and against top teams, let alone Crows.

We have the Fab 5 and Doc this week. Plenty of midfield strength with Kennedy back releasing Cerra and Walsh to play more outside.

Fisher would know he could have lost his spot in the last 2 weeks and last week was the final straw, amongst all of us. Injuries/ suspension possibly kept him in the side. Luck, not skill.

Do we really need Fisher? That is the question. I dont think Fisher's spot is a given.

Lol Walsh is the first name on the team sheet with Charlie and Cripps.

Crows bringing the pressure against Freo, who have alarmingly dropped off this year, but we will be in for a fight and we need to be switched on for 120 minutes or else it will just be like round 20 last year all over again.

Freo are idiots. Would've been nice if they'd given Adelaide a hard game but that was putrid

I'm with Bondi on Fisher. Good to see he got more touches this week but I just saw too many mistakes. I just wasn't as taken by his game as others but maybe I need to watch the replay again.

I recall a bit in the first half where it looked like he had his back turned to the play & the ball just went past him in the middle of the ground

I liked that Voss gave him the responsibility in the centre 4 in the first half but we got better when he took him out. A bit of time in the reserves to get some confidence wouldn't hurt IMO

If Owies is fit does Fisher go out?
Do we need more run and drop Silvagni?
Surely Acres replaces O'Brien
Do either of Cowans or Holland need a break?
Who do Walsh & Kennedy replace?

Whatever the changes adding Walsh Acres Kennedy Owies Martin make us a lot better

Steady on... I didn't say I think he should. I said I think he will... and that is based on the hysterical suspensions that are being dished out at the moment coupled with Michael Christian's vendetta against Carlton. You know which way any 50/50 is going to go involving Carlton players.

The Crows looked good today.
This is not going to be an easy game.
