Good run with umps today. Almost best I can ever remember.

The non decision when Weiters grabbed zurhar around the throat was pretty hilarious

Umpire felt he deserved it - just like the rest of us.

Maybe I've become a grumpy old flower who is hard to please but find it hard to believe that other than getting the 4 points, you could possibly be happy with that performance. Or last weeks for that matter.
Dish up the absolute garbage we did for 2.5 quarters against a good side and we get totally smashed.
Of course, given we're on top and undefeated I'm not sure which side is actually good this year.
Really looking forward to seeing the great man back along with Kennedy and Acres.
Hewett really struggling since his hand injury. Hope we haven't rushed him back.

Lol. I certainly had no sympathy for the flower. Wish Weiters ripped his head clean off.

The only positive a sane person would deduce is we are winning games without playing truly well. Anyone who can't see this is fooling themselves and others.

Commentators missed a golden opp to mention Zurhaar's I-must-not-protest-but-what-the-hell?-glare (considering the other crap they find amusing) - it was a good-un.

My second game of the year (after Richmond) and what a mixed day out it was.

Agree, first half was terrible from both teams, and just not good footy to watch.

That we came out better in the 3rd quarter matters, and I have to give credit to Voss for doing what coaches are meant to do at half time and turning a team around.

Cripps and Curnow are properly elite, and watching them live is just brilliant.

Although today wasn't Jesse Motlop's best game, he's really starting to become a favourite of mine; just a fun player to watch and enjoy.

Loved the win, loved the 4 points. But as others have said we won off the back of 1.5 quarters of good footy, and North lacking in skills, and if we don't improve we'll be caught out very soon.

You don't want to be playing your best football now. Collingwood proved last night if you lay it on the table early you will get worked out.
Dee's had the same problem last year.
If you can bank wins early playing ordinary football then that is good.

We need to start hitting our straps in round 15 onwards. If one quarter gets the job done then so beit.

So far this year we have 2 goals from the midfield both from Doc and both from outside 50.

We will get better when Cripps Cerra Hewitt Kennedy Holland Acres LOB Pitto Walsh hit the scoreboard.

There is plenty of scope to improve

I didn't go to the game as I had a family get to together.
I watched it with a few other Carlton supporters and we were not happy in that first half.
We played much better in the second but it was disappointing to let that big lead slip a bit.
North kicked badly for goal which helped us.
For a change we had the better of the umpiring.
Good to see Charlie and Harry fire in the same game.
It wasn't the greatest of games but happy with the 4 points.
It was really well done today. Hopefully this will now become an annual game between us and North.
Great crowd, I think they said it was the biggest Marvel crowd in 10 years.

Agree
In general play it was very even
Our defence was key early
North are a bottom six team at best
I personally rate Adelaide
Thursday night will be a much harder test
Good to see MCGovern actually do something for once
But he needs to string a few more together to make up for his first four years
And in regards to Saad handing Norths first goal because he refused to kick on his right
I simply don’t get it

Didn’t see the game - interested in how Ed went.
would we lose much replacing him with Dow next time we have 2 mids out?

Today was the Roos grand final. The one day where the footy world actually watches or gives a shit about them. I thought they threw everything at us in the first half. They were more desperate. They went harder. We absorbed it then went bang.

Letting them kick the last 4 of the game was disappointing. Whether it's junk time or not, we just stopped. We need to finish games off.

Our bottom few were pretty ordinary today. And some of our kicking was just woeful. JSOS the worst offender. Hit a target ffs!

A bit to like. Plenty to improve on. Keep banking those wins blues.

And maybe north match us well in the midfield and are a reasonable side.
You’ve said yourself you’re not sure who is good this year. ;-)

We won with no injuries.

That's all that matters to me.

Acres, Walsh and Kennedy back for next week. Bring it on.

GO BLUES!

Would you prefer we play our best football now and lose 8 of our last 12 games OR play our best as we approach the finals?

We tend to play to the level of the opposition. When the opposition level goes up our performance often goes up. Problem is, the opposition level goes down, so does ours rather than pumping them.

Pies made top 4 on the back of a million narrow wins against shit sides last year.
