Yeah nah.

I think reinventing players was kind of a thing we did when we didn't have any good players. For mine O'Brien gets a full game on a wing ten times before plowman.

Plowman is really battling for Newman/Cowan's spot I reckon. Not Acres or Hollands.

Looks like there is only standing room tickets left.
Makes you wonder why the AFL did not schedule us for this game before now.

Walsh has completed everything at training taken part in all drills and is ready to play but club may hold off for 1 more week.

I can't see why they don't make him sub and bring him on late

I’m so dirty right now. Had corporate tickets lined up and have tested positive to C19 today.
Bloody GP. Hope Pittonet and Weitering are ok. :banghead:

Haven't heard too much recently about sharing block busters across all clubs. There has been some very underwhelming crowds from the smaller membership bases and the good Friday games have been a complete cock up from the western bulldogs.

As has been said many, many times, north v carlton makes perfect sense. Perhaps the afl planned it this way so they can say, well you had your opportunity for a block buster and turned it into a farce.

Because they have NFI?

Just a guess buts seems to be the most likely answer

The good news is he's recovered and ready for combat.
He's a running machine, and we need more run.

Sub sounds like the right way to go...not reserves.

With Walsh, I am all for erring on the side of caution. One extra week with him on the sidelines won't hurt the team but will help make sure we have him for the rest of the season.

If they are not giving him a run in the 1's on Friday then maybe he might get 2 or 3 q's in 2's Friday lunch time at Arden Street.

I would be happy for him to run up and down a wing for 90 mins in the 2's. More Klm's is more klm's. Take a few bumps and just get up to speed with ball handling and linking up.

Regards Cazzesman

MICHAEL Voss has confirmed Sam Walsh will need at least another week of training before being available for selection.

Despite talk that Carlton’s co-vice captain could be available for tomorrow’s Good Friday SuperClash, the earliest Walsh will return will next week’s Gather Round opener against Adelaide.

Voss said the Blues had continued to focus on a steady recovery for Walsh after back surgery in pre-season.

“He won’t play this week. We’ve been steadfast in our position with him,” Voss said.

“He’s had some milestones he’s had to achieve. One of those was training fully yesterday, which he did.

"Barring him not pulling up well from that particular session - which I'm lead to believe he's okay - he'll be available next week."

Do you believe this on the afl.com website?

Quote:
"It's the first time this game has sold out, which is a testament to the hard work North Melbourne has done in building this blockbuster match."

https://www.afl.com.au/news/897226/

Nothing to do with the club called Carlton?

Carlton: The club that experienced the highest attendance to home games in 2022, despite not making Finals.

Nah, nothing to do with Carlton.

Last year prior to the Good Friday Game NM CEO said Amarfio

Quote:
“We’re hopeful the Victorian and North Melbourne members and also Bulldogs fans show up in force,” Amarfio, who was “very pleased” the Roos had retained the game, said.

He said the club would work hard with the AFL on marketing the Good Friday game.

After all the hard work NM did the attendance between North and Bulldogs on Good Friday last year was 32,162

Quote:
the Dogs having played in the inaugural match on that Easter public holiday in 2016 and again in 2017.

The Western Bulldogs and North Melbourne competed in the AFL's first Good Friday clash in 2017.

St Kilda lost the fixture after a disappointing performance and attendance of 33,966.

The match drew 28, 483 in 2021

Yeah right....nothing to do with North's opponent Carlton? Carlton have approx 85,000 paid up members for season 2023, and aiming for 100,000.
