Heart in the mouth stuff. But a hard fought win probably against the odds, but more importantly against the reigning premier who is now 0 wins from 2 games.

Loving Hollands and Cowan, both had important impact throught the game.

Charlie - outstanding
Cripps - that was some sort of 3rd quarter - right?
Saad - Soooooo good
Mckay - not massive impact scoreboard wise, but awesome efforts in critical times in the last qtr
Cerra - good
Kennedy - good
JSOS - less impact but still had good moments
LOB - I still think his disposal is elite when on song - and he demonstrated that again tonite despite limited game time as the sub
Acres - Much better
Young - Solid
Weiters - very good
Gov- good and bad
Kennedy - good

Generally a much better effort and although challenged, this time the team rallied well and got the points. Thats progress!!

I tipped this!

Geelong are the reigning premiers. They are a good team. Seriously.

Mofowies stuck it up us!

Anyone interested in the mechanics of the game, and why our last quarter is an issue, have a listen to what Dermott Brereton is on about right now on SEN.

Enjoy the win. Lots to work on.

What did he say

All four quarters our contested possession, clearances, kicks all roughly the same. Only we went from 16, 15, 15 inside 50's to only 5 in the last quarter.

We went too defensive too early and he reckons it'll cost us in future.

We should tell the coaches that :smoking:

I didn’t see SOJ get injured - I think it was a tactical sub at 3/4 time (ie. bring on the extra running player in the final quarter).

Silvagni subbed off.

Interestingly centre clearances were 8-14 Geelong's way. Contested possession 136-120

Could we be the first team that brings two completely different game plans into the season, depending on our opponents??
Fast Carlton & Tight Carlton?

I still think we need to clean up our kicks which get smothered and the dinky handballs that fall to teammates feet and slow our momentum.

Very happy with the win. Very happy with 6pts from these first two games.
Now we need to frank that over the next month or so.

We don’t beat this mob often so let’s bloody enjoy this.

Been out with daughters sporting commitments so only seen bits and pieces. Can’t wait for the replay.

Very happy to be 1.5 wins after the first two. Was always a tough start.

If you’d offered me 6 points from the first 2 games I’d have bitten your hand off

Relieved.

Confirmation hopefully that we are on the right path. Lose and it would be 1 from 8. Last win in July !

So such an important win.

Didn't do it easy. Tensed up big time. Guys looked all at dea early in the last but managed to steady it a bit and hung on. Harry's clunks late so important and impressive.

Let's hope the team can build from here.

That was the best style i have seen us play in a long time.

The swarm through the midfield.

If we can get Charlie and Harry to kick better for goal, OMG watch out !!

I was wrong about Durdin coming in tonight underdone, he was really good. Owies was good tonight as well.

What a great win. Should have smacked these guys but greatful for the win.

Sooo I had a weird feeling about this game all week. Good weird not bad weird.

Even when I was tearing my hair out and screaming my head off late in the last, some little voice in my head said "We aren't gonna lose this one".

Anyway that's my claim to fame.

Great to get the W against those flogs from Geelong. The umpiring as per usual was ghastly and kept the Cats in it. Gotta start flogging teams when we get a decent lead and not let them back in the game. Charlie's interview after the game was great, he threw in another f-bomb just like last year.

Ollie Henry = Bitty.

Geelong accuracy has kept them in the last two games. Also you're the reigning premier, where the @#$%&! are your fans?

Harry should have kicked more but I'll allow it for those marks in the last.

Lewis Young needs to mark more but at least he did it when it counts.

The smalls fired up tonight as they needed to. Any doubt I had on Durdin coming straight in was erased.

We are better with Pittonet.
