It has been a long time since I last saw Cunners. I have that game vs the Druggies etched in my head, and that game vs Druggies again he looked really mobile, more alert and competitive than before till he did his ACL.

Like all of us, we wish he would make the grade and star, but I think he is made of tissue paper too. A rookie spot is plenty imo, unless we are not compelled too.

I dont want us to sign him. He strikes me as someone who doesnt do everything possible to get his body right. And yes Bondi, they are the games i remember and that 30min video where we waited for a superstar to sign and then its him for 3 years. My jaw was on the ground.

I just dont see that he has the desire to make it to be honest. Oh well someone must love him.

I don’t get the impression that there is a lack of desire but I do wonder if his body is cut out for the rigours of AFL.

The million Dollar question Sue . If they can get him right he sure has got the game for modern day footy .

Carlton’s Will Setterfield and Liam Stocker are expected to attract interest from Essendon* as the pair look to extend their AFL careers.

Quote:
The Bombers liked Setterfield, who supported the Bombers as a child, in his draft class and considered taking him with the No. 1 pick alongside Andrew McGrath and Hugh McCluggage.

At 192cm Setterfield could provide some size the Bombers require in the midfield.

The Bombers are also eyeing Stocker, who would could provide some hardness and long-kicking to the back half. Stocker’s fitness was an issue at Carlton but the youngster is keen to play on at AFL level next year.

Effendopes have picks 4, 22, 40, 58, 76.

There's the Dodoro factor which doesn't fill me with confidence of anything better than pick 40. Setterfield's last 3 games in the AFL and VFL plus his previous Draft cost warrants pick 40

Also Carlton may be desperate to have something to offer Freo for Acres beyond picks 10 and 28 which Austin made public he wants to keep for the Draft.

Packaging Picks 60, 62 and possibly 40 or 58 may get us a pick that satisfies Freo for 26yo 191cm Blake Acres. Then there's the Jones compo pick.

Farmer Blue is all over this sort of stuff, and Spooky Galt loves to crunch numbers.

The question is if Acres is a better prospect for Carlton than Setterfield? Farmer?

Is the Jones compo pick going to become the new Henderson pick?

I don’t know if I can watch Stocker or Setters in * colors. I really don’t, especially as they will blossom playing key roles. Flower this looks like a terrible off season.

Settle down Surrey.

It’s not like you to be negative…

Did I miss something, what's this about Setters and Essendon*? Duckduckgo only gives me rumours from 2016.

I call as I see it at the time and don’t pretend everything is fine, if it isn’t. You can, if it makes you feel better.

Let’s just hope they haven’t f@#$ed this up again.

What if they stink it up in Essendon* colours?

That'd be fun to watch.

Lets imagine it for a minute.
Steerfield is a big bodied mid, not a wing man.

OK, so he faces his former team in Carlton.
He's in the middle with Stocker and Parish.
They look over and see Cripps, Hewett and Walsh.
At times it will be Kennedy, Cerra and Docherty.

Now, are you worried about Setters and Stocker, or are they worried about the Carlton mids they have to try and beat, or get beat up?

Nuff said. Bring them on...as long as we get a good pick from Effendopes

I hope Setterfield stays. I rate him and think he has a heap of upside and must be played as an inside mid.

I know we have Cripps Hewett Kennedy but these guys rarely play a full season and are older. Walsh Docherty and Cerra add dash and can play on the wing
