My son, who has kicked a goal after the siren in a GF to win, kicked a goal with 1 minute left from a 5 goal deficit. He marks 25 out on an angle. he’s the most reliable kicks. You wouldn’t want the ball in anyone else’s hand. He kicks a point. Season over.

Ditto Doc, Charlie, Durdin…..looking for one point….season over

It’s not a good place to be here atm and some of the posts, whilst understandablle are a bit over the top. Walsh out before the game is a good reflection on our season since we were 8-2. Injuries got us in the end. The effort was there. The list needs to improve.

I feel I’m the only one with some composure in this household.

Williams and Cerra were great today even if underdone.

Who doesn’t think we will get better in 2023?

This loss will burn…will burn our players, our coach, our list manager….and finally, a few on our list.

Thanks for putting Carlton back on the map Sayers, Cook, Voss & co. We have not disgraced our brand.
I see this as the true turning point for the Club.

Win today and as much as we can dream, not winning a premiership. Just another also ran.

This on the other hand like you said has to hurt and burn some cauliflower into them.

Blue skies.

Why would this one change anything?

It’s been the same shot for 20 years.
Oh I didn't realise we had a premiership quality squad for the past 20 years. My apologies.

So you think this is a premiership quality squad? Really?

The truth is you haven't got a second to lose.

When you're a middle of the road club you have to take your chances, especially when you have a relatively easy draw in an open season

Next year is unknown... this season is a failure
How was this an open season?

There's only two teams that can win the premiership.

The fact that we were contesting for a top 4 finish at one time... before we went on to lose against teams well below us

Geelong a favorites but one bad game and it's up for grabs

A loss like today's certainly helped Essendon* a couple of decades ago.

all seriousness if you gave me a choice for the season we had I would’ve taken it after the last few years.

Last 2 games have been as good experience as any final in Brisbane would have given us.
Hope the boys are hurting like us supporters are, they need a big off season!

Just remember Melbourne finished 9th 2020….

+1. Who wouldn’t have taken a last round win for finals at the start of the year?

Cannot believe the angst aimed at Voss. Previously we’d have folded like a house of cards after 1st quarter.

But we didn’t. We fought hard and came back. Sure it hurts. But I reckon that’s a better hurt than us making finals and making up the numbers.

Strongly disagree. Name one.

Gold Coast, GWS and PTA all have lists capable of playing finals. Even the cheats could improve significantly.

Yikes. You mustn't rate us at all.

Durdin was selfish. He saw Fish there. Just ignored him wanting to do God knows (I want to kick it longer just because I want to be the man) what but I'm sick of his little tough face. Kill the clock. Short target. You stupid cauliflower.

Was running backwards when Fisher was free.
Fine with criticism of his decision making, but you’ll never convince me it was selfishness.

No, I just understand that it's a pretty even competition.

Think he was paid the mark.
Sat in the hole, right where he should be, and took the mark under pressure. Was shaky underneath it, but credit to him that he’s clearly working on, and improving, that part of his game.

Providing we learn from it and improve... but as Carlton fans we know that's not a given

Pre season expectations are a cop out imo... I too would've taken a 9th finish before round 1 but as the season unfolds, you adjust your expectations. At 10-4 you don't miss finals...

Seeing we've won 2 finals in 22 years, I would've loved the chance to try and make it 3
