Charlie needs to play his best game this year if he wants to win the Coleman.
He's only 3 in front of Cameron and they have West Coast at GMHBA.
I reckon they'll be feeding him the goals too.

I just as much assume he misses Coleman and Blues miss finals.

I'm hoping the opposite.
How much more motivation does a forward need, two major achievements in one game.

Yes but it's a team game

OK so look say Cameron kicks 6, I mean it is a real possibility (he could kick more even)

Then Charlie needs 3 to tie

And remember Pies are hard to score against

The only thing I will say is, Charlie has had 3 lean weeks (2,2,1) so he is due a bit of a bag

And the club are due a win

Maybe we win and Charlie snags 3 and ties for the Coleman or wins it by a whisker

Jeremy Cameron out with a low grade hamstring injury.

Really?

If so, tomahawk primed for 10. How far behind is he?

According to the Geelong website he has kicked 55 goals. How many is Charlie on?

I think 62. So would need 8+ to go past him.

I’m feeling pretty confident about this week,
Last time we played them we had no Harry and
Weitering went down early and it took us too long to adjust.
Yeah our midfield is depleted but if our effort is on similar to sat night then it’s on!
Was really impressed with Setters game he stepped up and played. On form the only player I think
We are really missing from midfield is Hewitt. Cerra and Kennedy weren’t exactly tearing it up before their injury

I'm feeling confident too!
Paradoxically that worries me. :smoking:

We've got to remember that half this pies team lost a Grand Final by a kick 4 years ago. They're keen to make amends.

Everyone of our guys needs to add those 1 percenters (plus some) to their game ....... then we'll win

I'm undecided.

Mostly I'm terrified.

Charlie and Harry have to step up. Moore, Murphy and Howe are good players but our boys need to do the job.
Both offensively and defensively. No more hanging out the back by Harry or conceding the mark when the opposition get body pressure on him.
Straight kicking at goal is absolutely crucial. Inaccuracy cost us Saturday night. We simply missed too many shots that we shouldn't have.
Let's hope Hawthorn come out and capitalise on their chances on Sunday and we do the same.
(Unfortunately history tells us the opposite will probably happen)

Great posts. Thanks.
Love the summary of Pies game plan Paddy.
Better than reading the bias scribes, who don't watch the whole game because they are writing notes or spruiking their self importance to someone who doesn't care....Robbo?...or only watch part games on the reds.

MCG is 5m wider and 5m longer than SCG.
Similar shape nowadays. Not so prior to 2007 when they had an extra 10 rows of seats.

.

Thanks Bondi...
Interesting... I stand corrected on the ground size.. (albeit minor differences)....

Ahhh 2007, sadly doesn't seem that long ago!

Last time we met, we were playing all over them till Weitering did his shoulder in the first 10 mins, bumping DeGoey.

Along with Weiters we already had plenty of players out but are available this week: Harry, Gov, Martin, Pittonet, Marchbank.

Williams and Kennedy also were out. We might get back Williams. Boyd didn't play.

We are a better team than the last time we met, with only Hewett and Newman missing from the team from Rnd 11.

Go Blues

Wow I didn't realise we had so many outs against them last time! Looking at the ins now, they far outweigh the loss of Hewett and Newman.

Also they will be without Taylor Adams, Ginnivan most likely, and De Goey is under a cloud too. Ginnivan was garbage against us last time but you just know he will get under our skin so if he misses that will be a huge win for us.

So many Carlton fans I know think our season is over already. I don't get it, we matched it with Melbourne who despite losing twice to the Pies (bogey side for years) are IMO a much better and complete side than Collingwood.

I mean I do get why, after the last 2 mins the other night and the last 20 years, but we are far from underdogs here. It's a 50/50 game, I just hope the pain of Saturday is going to fire them up.

If the players are anything like me, they can't wait to go out and put them to the sword.

I haven't rated Collingwood. All year.

It's cost me in tipping comps.

And I'm probably wrong given where they sit.

But I think we will win easily.

I reckon we played our elimination final against the Demons, it was a huge effort by the boys and I’m so very proud of the team, , the game would have completely sapped the team.
Got my fingers crossed, hope I’m wrong and we can get up and there’ are such big stakes for both teams , this game will be dure and frenetic from the Ist bounce.

Our biggest problem is not injuries but disposal. Just look at last week. If we were half decent we would have won.

If disposal can be cleaned up, I agree a game that can be won if not easily, then comfortably. By comfortably I mean at least by one point.

Yep, I think on the balance of things - we'll play a final against Melbourne first week.

Bit concerned we showed our hand too early. Setterfield to Oliver worked once, as did Cottrell on Langdon. Reckon McKay had the best performance anyone has had on May all year too. You could argue Martin had his best game for the club. Not sure where the upside is from that performance (Williams for Newnes possibly, a fitter Pitto?).

Gawn absolutely dominated, Brayshaw had 38, Oliver 30, Viney played as well as he can, May had 25 possies, Petracca 24, Melksham career game, umps in their pocket.
Where is their improvement coming from ?Fritch.

We have Cerra, Zac, and maybe George to return, and Charlie only kicked 1

Yes it was a high intensity match but if we can't recover with an 8 day break then we don't deserve to play finals.

Aside from Melksham, I'm not sure the argument that their best players played to the standard you'd expect from them (although Petracca's 24 is below his season average of 28 and had minimal influence) helps.

Oliver's 29 was somewhere between a quiet night for him and lucky that the two undisciplined frees he gave away weren't converted (Setters also had 26 himself). McKay kicked 3 on May (one from a downfield free kick) after being nowhere near it for a month.

Umpiring was an improvement on last few weeks of Nafan, and again hardly anything we're going to expect to turn our way.

Pickett was nowhere near it until the last 11 seconds. Ben Brown had an absolute shocker and Lewis Young had his best game for the club. Fritsch wasn't sighted. Jackson did nothing. Silvagni to Lever definitely worked in our favour.

Looking for some advice - I'm a member but almost never come down to go to a game. I'm fortunate enough to be down for work on Friday so was going to make a weekend of it but when I've tried to plug in my barcode to get a ticket it's saying allocation exhausted. Have I got any chance to get a ticket?

Not sure if they are allowing standing room?
