We're not only getting screwed by our own injuries, but opposition injuries also costing us.
Toby and Tarranto out this week pretty much costing GWS any chance of pulling off the upset.
Having said that, I'd much prefer we took relying on other teams to lose out of the equation.

I'm relying on Melbourne or Collingwood to lose ... not sure how we find a way to beat them otherwise.

Would be nice wouldn't it. I still reckon we can beat the pies, but we aren't winning this week.

I reckon our only hope is going to be the Hawks in the last round. But I wouldn't expect those pricks to do us any favours

If Clarkson was in charge he'd probably play 18 men on Aaron Naughton to ensure the loss.

In Tassie for their captains last game

I've pretty much given up on beating the Dees this week however think we are a decent chance against Collingwood in Rd 23.
They only beat us by a kick in Round 11, and that was with us losing Weitering in the 1st qtr which put our defence into total disarray. This was compounded by Carroll being the sub and having a shocker. Yes we will be without Cripps and Hewitt however they have lost Taylor Adams and will hopefully have some more injuries against the Swans this week. Furthermore the inclusion of McGovern/Marchbank/Pittonet who weren't in our Rd 11 side could make a difference.

Note that if Collingwood lose to the Swans this week (and the Demons and Lions win) they may be in a situation in Rd 23 where even if they beat us they will be relying on St Kilda to beat the Swans to make the top 4. Could this play on their mind? I wish the St Kilda vs Sydney game was before ours as it has the potential to make our game a dead rubber for the Pies.

So we need to win one of the next two then.

If we don't, we don't deserve finals it's that simple.

It's a pretty good deal - beat a good side to prove you belong in September.

@#$%&! the other results and go out there and win!

If we did that, we'd be accused of tanking.
But I agree with Traveller. Just win a game ourselves and then who cares if dogs win both.

I agree. I'd really prefer to win and make them on merit. Especially if other teams lose meaning we clearly make it in.

But still. Hawthorn could do us a huuuuge favour as they have Richmond and WBD.
Also, probably gonna have to barrack for Essendon* again in Rd 23 against Richmond.

I also don't trust Brisbane to beat the Saints at Marvel because they're just shithouse outside of the GABBA.
