We have 3 tickets (Section 544, Category 2) for the Adelaide game we are trying to offload if anyone is interested.

I definitely want to see Honey further up the ground. Big, strong, great engine and can kick the ball a mile. I think he is wasted as a small forward

Oh great, another player in front of Dow. Honey is an unproven as a mid.

I didn't say mid and the more the better

You said, further up the ground" and "wasted as a small forward"...that's a mid

Except for Dow...he has to wait until a fulltime mid position becomes available according to you

Wing, HB or BP is up the ground

Personally like to see him of HB. His powerful running and ball use would be a weapon.

Rest TDK forward and we would get similar forward pressure with a lot more besides
Or give honey a similar opportunity to get a few under the belt.
Or Dow
Or push fish back forward if Hewitt comes in
Or try Hewitt forward - try to give our attack something more than bombing it to Charlie or H

Honey looked good on Sunday, strong at the contest, had his timing right at the feet of packs, getting better with each run.

Agree. He has a lot of ability just needs a run at it

Hewitt ruled out. Weitering, Walsh & Owies expected to be available.

B: Newman Young McGovern
HB: Saad Weitering Docherty
C: Setterfield Cripps LOB
HF: Walsh McKay Fisher
F: Durdin Curnow Honey

R: Pittonet Kennedy Cerra

Inter: Cottrell, Dow, Plowman, TDK
Sub: Motlop

In - Dow, Pittonet
Out - Newnes, Silvagni

It’s very tempting to bring Owies straight in, but he’s missed 5 games so perhaps a run in the VFL will do him good. Similarly, Martin should come back via the VFL and Marchbank needs another VFL game under his belt.

Silvagni squeezed out this week for team balance, but I do get the argument that he could stay in at the expense of Honey. I would go with Honey though because he does provide a point of difference in attack with his pace and strength, and I feel like he’s not far away from having an impact game. There’s also the lesser point that Silvagni has done a power of work this season and a week’s rest might not be the worst thing for him as we approach the pointy end of the season. I would take Silvagni over to Adelaide as travelling emergency - I don’t see any point playing him in the VFL this weekend.

And with Hewitt’s short term future in doubt, I reckon it’s time to crack open a can of Dow! I’ve been far less fazed than some about Dow’s regular non-selection, but I do think now is the time to give him some more AFL exposure.

What’s the odds for NO changes?

Pittonet Dow & Marchbank are the ones pushing for spots. Others like Owies need a VFL game or two

I can’t support squeezing out Silvagni. He has been awesome and he and us will be even better when he can purely play as a forward. Had a great year and one of our first picked

He'd be rested or managed rather than dropped

I agree he’s had a good year, but I don’t agree he is one of our first picked. Who would you drop for Pittonet?

Earlier in the year we played one less small so I assume we will go that way again

Good discussion. Nice to have selection issues not over who is available but who is unlucky to miss out. About time too!

JSOS definitely one of the first to be picked.

We have improved but not so much where we can rest players without having mathematically sealed our spot in the 8.

Every match JSOS looks out on his feet by quarter time but just keeps presenting, linking, contributing, working hard.
Every week, someone suggests he needs a week off.
Every week he shows up again and IMO is one of our most important players - heart and soul, maximum effort, desperation and never say die. Strong on field leadership by example.

Agree with everything you say above, but I do think he needs a spell for his own sake

Jack always looks buggered. Bit like Robert Harvey used to. He's fine, that's just him

Yeah , Robert Harvey . Five minutes into a game Harvey had his hands on his hips half doubled over gasping for air ready to head his guts out . Similar to Jack for sure . Always looks knackered .

Maybe he's pulling a Djokovic, con the opponent into thinking you're cooked, then when they ease up, BAM!

Mind games GX ? sure worked for Harvey coz he used to run rings around "em . Superb player . Reckon Walsh is a similar player to Harvey with a touch of Craig Bradley .

You can be as good as you are but nothing beats reading the game and getting involved. SOS > Honey. for now. Honey has to show a lot more.
