I definitely want to see Honey further up the ground. Big, strong, great engine and can kick the ball a mile. I think he is wasted as a small forward

Yep and yep . Like this bloke a lot . Gives us something different .

I doubt it will happen this year, but I would really like to see Honey train in the preseason for a wing role.

The extra outside defender is a necessity if we go with the second ruck. So, the squad is 8-8-6 and, for the most part, 6-7-5 on field to give the talls a bit more space up front.

For what it’s worth, I think this is the side that will make a mess of Brisbane the following week.

I don't mind the side. I love the back 7 and the mids but am concerned about the forward rotations - or lack thereof. If we need an extra outside defender why couldn't Hewitt or Kennedy fill that role and bring in Dow?

Stocker won't come in. He was very poor Saturday night
Harsh on Setterfield, I thought he was very good. O'Brien was solid
I'd prefer Marchbank over Plowman but Plowman was okay yesterday

It's great now we are starting to have trouble fitting players in. Been a long while since we could say that

From the weekend Pittonet Hewett Williams Boyd Owies Martin Marchbank could all be considered Best 22 or close to it

Surely Owies comes in for Motlop

Pittonet in for Honey

We lose a bit of speed and mobility in the forwardline but win more clearances and it's not Honey is setting the world on fire despite finding a bit more of it on the weekend

Plowman was more than OK

Can't drop him after his best game for the club, surely ?
And I reckon they want him in the side in case McGovern gets injured again

They’re too slow.

The forward mix is a bit theoretical. They were noticeably poor against the rebound in the first 5-6 weeks of the season when we tried the two rucks. But, I think this is the group to better convert entries into scores.

The two pillars of Vossy’s team selections are the pressure forwards and the wing. So, yeah, theoretical.

Oh great, another player in front of Dow. Honey is an unproven as a mid.

Yes, I am a pessimist.

Wow. Surprised you didn’t throw in Hewett with a bulging disc and confirmation that Williams, Boyd and Cuningham were done for the year

Marchbank, Owies & Martin too?
:donk:

You're dropping Setterfield :donk:

24 touches at 83%, a goal, and 9 score involvements. What exactly does he have to do to keep his spot?

Change his jumper to #29.

Pitto can replace whoever the MC decide...after all, Honey replaced Hewett

Apparently Dow is the only player who will only replace a mid (as long as it's not Hewett or Cerra or ....) :screwy:

You said, further up the ground" and "wasted as a small forward"...that's a mid

Except for Dow...he has to wait until a fulltime mid position becomes available according to you

Drop Motlop. He has had his taste now back to the twos….
Rest TDK forward and we would get similar forward pressure with a lot more besides
Or give honey a similar opportunity to get a few under the belt.
Or Dow
Or push fish back forward if Hewitt comes in
Or try Hewitt forward - try to give our attack something more than bombing it to Charlie or H

Which ever 22 who get selected have to play as a team. This player in, this player out, is up to the match committee. One player here or one player there is a decision to be made before the game - the mentality of the selected team is paramount.

Having said this Pittonet and Hewett will have to come in. Motlop nad Honey look vulnerable.

Honey looked good on Sunday, strong at the contest, had his timing right at the feet of packs, getting better with each run.
