Last week the Cats slaughtered the reigning premiers the Dees . The Cats best players were there under the radar midfielders . Our midfield is star studded but they will need to perform big time against the Cats . Win the midfield battle and the rest will take care of itself . Its in the guts where the game will be won or lost . ..........still , you make a good point JP but it aint problem numero uno .

Played out best footy in the rain Sunday (I thought anyway)

It wasn't very wet though. I think there was about 1mm of rain for the whole day...

I was there.

It started raining when the game was killed off, and it rained heavily for about two minutes before it reverted to a drizzle. It rained on Saturday in Perth but was mostly clear with sunny breaks during the game.

The forecast is for rain and strong winds all Saturday.

Forecast I just looked at for Saturday says cloudy with showers and 1mm of rain.

Matching up on the Cats forward line will be interesting

Weitering & Young for Cameron & Hawkins
Plowman or Kemp for Rohan
Then Newman Saad Docherty for Miers & Stengle

I'd favour Pitto if he's fit. Geelong used Atkins and Blicavs as defensive mids and Blicavs also gave Stanley a chop out when he needed a rest.
Put TDK, Harry and Charlie in the front half and force their hand. Once we take a couple of grabs, it will force them to push Blicavs back as they're lacking height. Take something away from them.
If I was Carlton, I'd be speaking to the umpires about the Geelong mids before the game. If you cant put your arms around the waists of forwards, why do midfielders get away with doing it to other mids? Atkins is all over the opposition midfielders.

They're playing super aggressive footy Geelong. They are pushing their forwards up the ground and applying massive pressure. They'll switch across half back or into the corridor at every opportunity. I'll be interested to see how it pans out. It has been one area where teams have been able to dismantle us this year so hopefully the coaches are training hard at it. Zach Tuoheys kicking skills are helping them switch the ball with authority.

They're obviously sitting pretty on top of the ladder but they lost to the Swans, Dockers, Saints and Hawks and they only fell in against Brisbane at GMHBA and by 3 points against Richmond a couple of weeks ago so their form isn't anything to scare us if we're at our best.

The approach to Cameron will be interesting. He's hardly in the forward 50 anymore. He motors up and down the corridor picking up disposals at will. But when he can run and kick long, he's still a major threat.

I'm really looking forward to this. I tipped us to win a couple of weeks ago and I still think we will. But we have to play on our terms. Geelong will want a fast pace, hectic style game. It's important we bring the heat early and then play to our tempo when we have possession.

I understand the sentiment Rick but the actions of Selwood are significantly less offensive IMHO.
Selwood shrugs to break/evade the tackle. If he doesn't receive the free kick, he plays on. Players like Ginnivan and even Waterman (who doesn't shrug but instead falls into the tackler) go to ground and stare at the umpire demanding a free kick. That is their total intent. They're not attempting to shrug or evade the tackle.
I think it's bordering on cheating and I'm hoping Voss tells Fisher to scrap it.

Selwood is crafty enough to "act" as though he's not playing for frees. His actions IMHO are to get a free. 7 times out of 10, he'll get it anyway

Otherwise, he plays on and tries again next time, making sure he shows no visible sign that he's playing for it, knowing that if he does, umps will cotton on

Geelong are favourites for the minor premiership.
100 point win and we go above them on the ladder.

Actually needs to be a 194 point victory.

Their “points for” is 73 ahead of ours and their “points against” is 120 behind.

Add those together and add 1 for top spot.

Still very doable…
