Vital. Why I like the idea of getting Goldstien for the next year or so. A big bodied ruck is vital. TDK is better as a Fwd/2nd ruck and Mirkov is a few years away

Was discussing this yesterday when watching his On The Couch interview.

He's huge, strong, seasoned, talented, and can go for another 2 years whilst TDK builds. He could fill the No 1 ruck aplomb.

Goldstein suggested he will stay at NM, unless they delist or trade him.

Isn't he a unrestricted free agent? I'd certainly be having a crack at him. 2 year deal. 34 is a few days but could easily play 2 more years is managed right

If not I would look at Callum Sinclair from Sydney and I like Conner Ballenden as he can play many roles and only 23

Look going into 2022 losing Casboult and not drafting another ruck and having Mirkov not ready was dumb

Yes hindsight is wonderful. Not useful, but wonderful.

And given our lack of kpp and the injuries to them. We have McGovern, Marchbank who are injury prone, as much as you all like Hayes, i think we should have taken another tall to at least fill a hole.

Hayes is 27 and we have plenty of time to grab a wing, its not a position of absolute need right now.

A tall body who at least who can compete.

We have Mirkov, Pittonet and TDK. You want a 4th ruck? How many lists have 4 ruckmen? None I'd suggest.
It's overkill and unbalances the list. We had O'Mac and Young as back ups. It's just a shit year for our talls, but we still have adequate replacements. TDK is developing and JSOS is serviceable.
I loved Casboult for his determination and service to the club but his time was up as a Carlton player.

I see TDK as a second ruck/fwd. Mirkov is being developed so is almost like having a rookie. I would have had another mature ruckman on our list and hope we do for next year or so as Mirkov develops. Having a mature ruck available each week is extremely valuable

A mature age ruck would be a list clogger unless in an emergency where we are playing for a grand final berth and all our rucks are injured. I’d much rather Mirkov gets as much time playing first ruck as possible in the vfl.

We had plenty of cover for his position, they just all became injured. If we’d kept Levi odds are he would also be injured right now and we’d all be moaning about not replacing him when we had the chance.

What if having a back up like Goldstein whilst Pittonet is injured helped us win a couple of more games to get us a top 4 spot?

What about having Tom Barrass for when Weitering has been injured? It's as easy as swapping trading cards right?
