We are still in our infancy under Voss as an improving team. The Coll loss was like the GC loss. We let down our guard. And it'll happen again. Until that happens we have to hope we rediscover the hunger and put together another stretch of wins. Harry back helps a lot with structure as it could allow Cripps to play onball again. And between Durdin and Marchy we hopefully have some cover for JW.

Also, Coll played really well against us. They've played a good, hard brand of football for the past few weeks.
And we lost Weitering on top of our other important outs. And we were a bit off. And we still nearly won at the end - admittedly, after Coll probably put the cue in the rack once they got 4 goals up with not long to go. I think it would have given Voss some good motivating, material to work with over the bye.
We'd better come out breathing fire this Fri night! Ess will see it as their big opportunity, just as this has been our big opportunity in our crap years.

Well if our players can't bring the requisite heat then it's on them.

Here's Glenn McFarlane's thoughts on selections this week

Quote:
CARLTON

B: N.Newman, L.Plowman, S.Docherty

HB: A.Saad, L.Young, L.Stocker

C: G.Hewett, P.Cripps, M.Kennedy

HF: Z.Fisher, J.Silvagni, C.Durdin

F: M.Owies, C.Curnow, J.Martin

FOLL: T.De Koning, S.Walsh, A.Cerra

INT: P.Dow, J.Newnes, L.O’Brien, S.Durdin

IN: M.Kennedy, J.Martin, S.Durdin

OUT: J.Weitering (AC joint), J.Motlop (omit), M.Cottrell (omit)

The big watch is on Harry McKay who is edging closer to a return - and could yet play - but looks more likely for next week. He will be closely monitored this week. Matt Kennedy is a chance to return while Jack Martin will likely take on the Bombers. It will come down to Carlton’s mid-season draftee Sam Durdin or Brodie Kemp for the last defensive slot as the club looks to minimise the damage in Jacob Weitering’s absence. The Blues want Caleb Marchbank to have a full game in the twos, while the club’s other midseason draftee Will Hayes is under consideration after some good VFL form.

It's a pity this didn't happen at the start of the season. Now that would have had the commentators in a frenzy.

So that's one tall Defender in, and one out for 6 games.

Can't wait to see if Kemp and Durdin are picked.

Makes us much bigger all across the park if they do.

I expect our boys to hit hard.
Vossy will set the scene.
The boys coming off a reconditioning fortnight, after a loss, and a top 4 spot for the taking.

I'm very confident we will spoil their party, with pleasure.

Wow, I’m very nervous about them rushing Marchbank in, he hasn’t been able to complete a full game yet due to being so fragile.

I guess this also means Durdin will play VFL for sure.
