All that aside, every week its the 4 points we are after.

The impact percentage will have will be known and judged at the end of the year.
I agree percentage is a gauge, an indicator, but its not every metric to judge a season.

This is war.

Us, them.

A 1 point win either way says everything.

Quote:
Sheedy is tipping 80,000 fans to attend the game.

“Because Carlton will come, they will want to beat the hell out of Essendon*,’’ he said.

This is a war, and some people at our club don’t realise it, but it’s a war every seven days. That’s the only way to play and coach. That’s the way it is.

This is Carlton and Essendon* and Carlton is where we want to be and we’re not.’’

% only an issue if we don't win games. Win more than those teams below us and it becomes irrelevant. Didn't we beat North and the Crows by approx. 50 points and Melbourne only beat the Hawks by 10 points.

Harry back makes a lot of difference

B: Stocker Young Plowman
HB: Docherty Durdin Saad
C: Walsh Cripps O'Brien
HF: Durdin McKay Fisher
F: Silvagni Curnow Martin
Foll: TDK Hewett Cerra
Int: Kennedy Owies Newman Dow Cottrell/Hayes

That's a good side with Pittonet Weitering Williams McGovern E.Curnow Marchbank all to come back and a lot of improvement in Kemp Motlop Carroll to come

Durdin has to play surely? Unless Kemp plays.

The question is how many Durdins will play.
And if there’s two of them, BT will be essential listening!

I love Ed Curnow but I just don't see him playing any part in this side for 2022. Where would he play

Ed plays if Hewett gets injured. Heart and soul player but Hewett is a huge upgrade

Possibly wing like Ed Langdon. Depends how he comes back. My comment is more about depth and options. Nothing like competition for spots to make a side better

That makes zero sense.
Fair to question my flawed logic and you're right, it's still 4 pts dropped.

It's a game in melbourne that got away. Just felt more significant in a tight race for the 8.

Now:

7th- Carlton 32 points
8th- Collingwood 28 points

If we beat them:

4th- Carlton 36 points

11th- Collingwood 24 points

The inclusion of Harry alone makes a huge positive difference.

When TDK needs a chop out our forward structure is based around one KP in Curnow.

I think Harry would play closer to goals if he is selected.
Curnow did state this week he misses being able to run a round when Harry isn't playing.
That implies to me Curnow has been playing the stay at home KPF whilst Harry has been out injured.

I'd like to see Hayes picked if he's fit, because prior to missing the last couple of VFL games, he's been in great form.

I'd like to see Kemp as the Sub.

Exactly.

JFC I hope the players aren't as fragile as we are. It's one game we lost and arguably we were due for it. Yes it was against the filth and we don't want that but get over it (and we get the chance for revenge in round 23).

What better way to rebound than against those cheating druggies?

Also if we win, it's likely to be a 2 game gap as Melbourne should respond and knock them off this Monday.

Relax Tommi...that's why we picked up Durdin in the mid season draft from Glenelg...to give us that zip arouund the goal...equilibrium restored

Yes, but I'm hoping all our defenders play surely, not just Durdin

In theory, I'd run with this (Dow looked very good against Essendon* last year before being subbed off). Weather does make me wonder if its worth rushing McKay back a week early.

In: Durdin, McKay, Martin, Kennedy
Out: Weitering, Motlop, Newnes, Dow (sub), Carroll

Yep agree bondi...if we lose a mid, we can fiddle with options from HB to HF
If we lose a 3rd tall F or B, there's too much strain on whoever is still left in the KPF or KPB
If we lose a KPB or KPF, we pray to all our makers and anoint Kemp as the saviour

Also, wasn't Kemp originally selected with the view that he would be a big bodied midfielder?
Obviously, he would not be fit enough (nor good enough) at this stage. But geez, how amazing if he turns out to be able to play midfield or 3rd tall forward or back??

We are still in our infancy under Voss as an improving team. The Coll loss was like the GC loss. We let down our guard. And it'll happen again. Until that happens we have to hope we rediscover the hunger and put together another stretch of wins. Harry back helps a lot with structure as it could allow Cripps to play onball again. And between Durdin and Marchy we hopefully have some cover for JW.
