Yes a lot of clubs knocking to get in the 8 now. We are only one game above Collingwood. Unreal ha given we only lost 3 games. Pity we have injuries now in a tough run coming up. We need to really come out hungry as we dont want to miss finals after all the hard work we have done.

According to John Ralph - Mcgrath from Essendon* in some doubt for Fri night's match due to a groin strain which occurred at training.

Correct. Durdin hasn't been playing in the 3rds at Shepparton.
There would be more disruption asking smaller players to step up to key defensive roles.

You two must be desperate for an honourable loss.

I know it’s been a while.

Yeah, that must be it.
It couldn't be that your theory is incorrect.
We're just desperate for a honourable loss.

One game with a game in hand.

Dropping the Collingwood game is the one really costs us.

Gold Coast felt like it at the time but in hindsight GC and Freo... Fair play.

Collingwood game and timing of it hurts.

How does the Coll loss cost us any more than the GC loss??

That makes zero sense.

Hopefully the players reset now. Start all over again. Season starts again. It's the cold tough months now. Time to harden up again. Injuries notwithstanding the hard yards start now. This is the period that separates the boys from the men.

Reckon we need to step on Ess's throat from the first bounce. Got to show them who's boss. It's not just about this game. It's about setting the tone for the second half of the season. Come out breathing absolute fire. We are a good side. Let's kick some * butt.

Our % is the problem. Richmond have Port at the G and then us at the G. If they win both (Which I think they'll be favoured to with our injury issues) they'll go above us if we fail to beat Essendon*. Friday nights game is huge for us.
We need a bit of luck whilst we're undermanned. To get value for our shots at goal (kick straight) and to not lose any more players.

I won't be overly surprised to see us drop as low as 9th before we make a run up the ladder in the last half dozen games.

Fair to question my flawed logic and you're right, it's still 4 pts dropped.

It's a game in melbourne that got away. Just felt more significant in a tight race for the 8.

Since we play a team defence he has to do more than just sit on his man. Can he pick that up in 2 weeks of training?

I doubt team defence is a new concept to him

Looks like a lot of rain in Melbourne during the week.
1-2mm rain isn't much rain on Friday but enough to make it slippery and put a strain on Stringer's groin.

Head to head in the midfield will se a lot of sore Effendrug midfield midgets (Parish, Shiel, McGrath, Smith) punching above their weight vs Cripps, Hewett, Kennedy, Cerra, Walsh.

Langford 192 and Stringer 192 their big bodied mids. Only expect cameos from Stringer in his first game back from injury. Langfords first game back for a long time too.

I would not be taking Essenscum lightly and think its going to be a win. Look what happened against Collingwood.

If we had Weitering and Harry - Sure. But right now not so much.

We are going to be scraping it in, and hoping for a win in the next few games.

We need a lot of luck in the next few games.

We are the opposite to other contenders as they are getting players back in the second half of the year. Unfortunately for us we lost too many important players to cover.

Agree

Danger game, just like the Pies game.

Take them lightly and we will pay.

I trust Vossy to get them up and respond to our last game's inconsistent effort.

SEN reported Durdin likely straight in and even murmurs that McKay might play!

Surely we wouldn't risk Harry for this game??? But great news that he seems to be on the conversation already. Would hopefully get up for the Richmond game.

I don't see how any of our players will
be taking any game lightly with all our injuries right now.

Really % is the problem
Wasn’t a problem 3 weeks ago even though I thought so
As the season goes on % is a more accurate stat on where you are at
Injuries dont help but we have had the opportunity to have big wins
Hawks
Port
Crows
North

These four results could really haunt us. Probably left 150pts on the table across those games.
As you say, it is prob a reflection of where the team is at. % worth a game at the end of the year if it doesn’t change much by then.
