Great win. Beating Sydney and the ups is awesome. What really impresses me is that throughout the last four games I can't really point to a Carlton player and say they had a shocker. That just goes to show how far we have come as a team. Josh Kennedy is a w@nker and I hope he gets a three week suspension. Just glad that the wins are piling up.
Carrol wasn't really up to standard.

He did a great little evasion in the 1st qtr IIRC. Looking forward to watching the replay.

Great win, reminded me of the Footscray game only better. The noise when Fish goaled must have been amazing at the ground!

I feel completely vindicated for hating Teague (the coach, not the person)

As Frank says, we deserve to enjoy
We only needed one against the flow, and that brilliant closing speed spoil of Cerra on Heeney and the spill to Walsh to Fisher for the goal was the sealer
That snatch of Weiters in the pack against Buddy on the edge of the square under the most enormous pressure was just sublime. Just pivotal
Three big crunching pack marks from Tom in the last
Charlie’s sixth in the third was his best. Swans coming. Under pressure. Straight through from a difficult angle
Durdin crumb off the pack sheer class. Great pick up
Diesel and Vossy with emotion hugging on the ground after the game.
And a hundred other moments
Just love football again.

Not long home from the game, what a roller coaster of emotions that was.
Brilliant 2nd quarter, the best for a very long time.
I thought we may fade in the second half but we held on and pulled off a terrific win.
The game should have been beyond doubt at half time.
The crowd was so loud, it was like being at a concert.
Weitering and Charlie were massive as was TDK in the ruck.
We need to stop those silly turn overs as we handed them several goals from them.
Great win and we now get to sit back and enjoy the weekend.
Go blues.

Enjoy it RickJ. It's been a long wait for a game like tonight.

Pros:

Suffocating forward pressure.
Defensive resilience, especially late in the game.
We didn't let Heeney beat us again.
The excitement of Diesel and the players after the game.
Curnow, Weitering, Walsh and Saad.
Although a couple of times he tried to do too much, Cripps was huge in the big moments.
Terrific games again from Durdin and Fisher.
Probably De Koning's best game.
Very exciting game from Motlop.
Probably the best 'big boy' game I've seen from LOB. Didn't win as much ball, but never looked scared. And spoiled and tackled and competed.
Another encouraging performance from Cottrell.
Got a good run with the umps.

Cons:

Some nervous turnovers early in the game.
Young got his pants pulled down by McDonald.

Feeling weird that I was never worried, despite the BT bullshit.

Lot of tired boys but. First half we had 18 winners. Second half m maybe 6. But grit wins out.

Loving we are winning with Cripps not being dominant. And loving even more the skip sacrificing his personal game for team balance.

Agree on all points.

The winning feeling is not the only thing we’re soaking up tonight.

I’m sure most of what I’m thinking has been covered by others but I just want to say 2 things;

1. We are winning with most of our best 22 not available nearly every week and we will be right in the mix come r22 with a very young, talented, hungry and full of belief list.
2. How good is it watching CFC supporters high five-ing, hugging, smiling and singing the theme song at the end of each game again. Seriously a feeling my kids are finally getting to know and enjoy.

Good night all and we have arrived.

Cotrell and TDK had massive games and saved us from a loss in the last quarter. They are both maturing at rapid rate.
Obrien still not quite finishing his work, but when he does will bea huge asset as he gets possessions in unusual situations. Good win but last last quarter was a bit off.. happy days

We got a pretty good roll in the first half. They got the same in the second.

When I saw the stats at half time I just knew the green would tilt their way. Human nature.

BUT … the decision which precipitated the swing was Heeney turning to face Cripps and simply pushing him backwards. Crippa grabbed him to stop himself falling backwards. They got a goal and the momentum swung, albeit subtley.

Pet hate of mine - if a backman takes his eyes off the ball for a split second he gets pinged for contact. How are taggers allowed to turn their back on the ball and focus solely on play makers like Cripps and get away with it?

How good

5 day break...No problem
9 players 22 & under..No problem
Missing half a dozen best 22..No problem
Cripps and Cerra down on normal output..No problem

Yes there were some outstanding individual efforts (Charlie, Weiters, Walsh, De Koning in the last FMD HOW GOOD WAS HE IN THE LAST, Hewett) but it was very much a team effort where every member contributed something at stages..

Belief can only build from games like last night

Now to end the Pies season & go into the bye at 9 & @#$%&! 2! Nine. And. Two!!!!

Go Blues!
