Stocker has been given a 1 week ban for the hip and shoulder??

Young has been given a 1 week ban for someone running into him??

Larkey has been given 1 week for intentionally tunnelling??

Am I reading that correctly??

This can't be true ...

An absolute joke. Hopefully the club will appeal.

It’s true.
Club needs to fight both.
I don’t even think they were high. If they were the blokes would have been concussed.

Bump might as well be banned completely.

North Melbourne's Nick Larkey was the third player from that clash to receive a suspension, with the Kangaroos forward offered a one-match ban for his tunnelling bump on Lewis Young.

The incident was assessed as intentional conduct and graded as medium impact, body contact.

He'll miss the Kangaroos' Round 8 clash against Fremantle if he accepts an early guilty plea.

Larkey's teammates Jack Ziebell and Jason Horne-Francis were also fined for tripping and striking respectively.

How do you get 1 week for bracing for contact and 1 week for intentionally tunnelling.
We need to challenge.

Do you see that big white word at the top of the page that starts with a capital “C” - that should give you a clue.

Young got him on the shoulder. As much as I dislike the bump v tackle it was text book protecting yourself from an oncoming collision.

Stocker didn't make contact with anything above the shoulder.

They have to appeal both. Completely wrong.

Irrelevant challenging - we need to raise this with the commission. Total bloody disgraceful how a football incident is worth the same as a intentional blatant dog act.

Something has to be done ... There is just not a single argument that anyone could make to convince me that either of these offense should have even been investigated... Same with the ziebel .. everyone could clearly see the bloke fell over and tripped him accidentally

We should ignore our players, appeal the trip and ask for 2 weeks. Egregious. Late. High impact. Potential to do serious damage. And an unrealistic attempt at a tackle.

A lot of bases covered here already, but have to express my love for Weiter's goal. The cheer squad gave him a huge ovation when he took his position in front of them again. Great when your FB nails chances like that. (St Kilda's FF couldn't do it, and look what happened.)

And yes, Eleni had an ordinary night, as did the other umps, I think, except it was hard to tell with the commentary going on around me. I think a bloke near me had just wandered in from the set of Allo Allo, with his 'you stupid woman' comments. Maybe in a hundred years, we'll get rid of umpirism (guilty, your Honour), but the sexism can be left out pretty much now with some practice (take a breath), fellow hothead attendees. (And I have a clockwork boam in my troosers.)

Surely the fact that Larkey tunnelled Young while play was stopped makes it mere severe than one week? Can we challenge his charge and the tripping as not severe enough?

Stocker’s I do t agree but he’ll probably miss a week with his injury anyway so perhaps let that sleeping dog lie.

Young’s was assessed as “shoulder to shoulder” so we should challenge.

I haven't seen replays or the benefit of slo mo on either incident so just going on what I saw on the night.

Stock: Had his arm tucked in, didn't jump and I don't think got him high. North player should have expected contact. Yes, he should have tackled and I was screaming at the tv, "tackle, don't bump". Moreso as a tackle would have resulted in a free and definite turnover. Best case with a bump is ball spills free and we're in a 50/50 situation.

Young: North player initiated contact, didn't collect him high. Got a free on the night which I don't think he deserved. Absolutely challenge.

If replays prove otherwise we cop them on the chin, but if there was no high contact we challenge.
I wouldn't just cop the Stocker one based on he is injured and will miss anyway. Points carry over for future infringements and whilst I hope he doesn't get in trouble again, he is one player we have who does play on the edge. When you play on the edge, you sometimes cross the line. Wouldn't want us to cop this one for the sake of it and risk something down the line.
