Yes ... Hewett is doubtful ... calf strain.

Regardless ... we should thrash North ... If we get beaten then it will just prove that we are the most frail team in the AFL.

A watch on Carlton’s George Hewett at selection tonight ahead of game v North Melbourne Sat night.
Was walking with a significant limp and had heavy strapping on his calf on Sunday and Tuesday.
Similar calf cork to Patrick Dangerfield

I like Williams forward...more scoring power.
Looks like you've solved the problem with the wings.

The clearances is our strength. Its missing Hewett Cerra and Walsh.
No Kennedy
Carroll in the guts with Crippa and Dow ... lacks a bit of star power

Newman 186 plays on Goldstein 201 in the NM FP? Huge mismatch.
Parks 192 on Larkey 198 ... Parks can do that? He's not a KP.

Do you think Harry wont make it either?
We lack height with McDonald, McGovern, Marchbank, and Jones not playing...add McKay to that with Pitto too, and I feel Young will be needed on the ground moreso than not.

Got a feeling Mirkov might be sub for insurance if a ruck goes down.

Who will be relieving/2nd ruck if Jack doesn't play?

Feel Young is needed for Goldstein.

Might have to play Mirkov to maintain our structures.
I know Mirkov is lost around the ground.
Pleasing to see him take 2 marks last week in the VFL.

Please let that be !!!

He would be the 2nd ruck vs Coleman-Jones
TDK would have to ruck when Goldstein rucks.

I hope so, because if it ends up being Pitto, McKay, JSOS, and now Hewett out through injury we are cooked!

JSOS is probably the most important in terms of structure covering our recent injury losses.

We need to get a new fitness guy. Not impressed by Jack Russell. Is this just me? Has done some nice things with Curnow, Setterfield etc. But we just dont seem super fit to run out 4 quarters and havent for a few years now. Plus we have so many injuries. I know many other teams do too, but I feel if we were fit enough to run out 4 quarters, it would make us a different side.

Agree that Young plays on Goldstein as the only member of the team with enough height but he will be rag dolled,. whether in the backline or in the ruck. Just too light at this time.

TDK needs support and JSOS if he returns from injury isn't it. Let him play his usual role.

Mirkov with 42 hitouts in the VFL last week just might give our mids the offence capability we need to get going and score quickly which has been our trademark this season.

Are we assuming both Kennedy & SOJ won’t come up?

So ... Pitto definitely out! Harry, SOS and Hewitt are all in doubt. Boyd, Owies, Parks, Newnes and Cottrell deserve to be dropped. Setterfield and Durdin hanging on by the skin of their teeth. Could be a big night at the selection table! :smoking:

Assuming that Harry, Hewitt, OMac & SOJ are unavailable….

B: Stocker Young Plowman
HB: Saad Weitering Williams
C: Docherty Cripps Carroll
HF: Fisher Kemp Kennedy
F: Durdin Charlie Martin

R: TDK Walsh Cerra

Inter: Dow, Newman, Owies, Setterfield/Parks

Sub: Newnes/Cottrell

In: Carroll, Dow, Kemp, Kennedy, Plowman, Stocker
Out: Harry (inj), Hewitt (inj), Pittonet (inj), Newnes/Cottrell, Setterfield/Parks, Boyd.

Until we get OMac or McGovern back, I want to keep Young in defence if we can. In SOJ’s absence, I would use Setterfield or Parks as 2nd ruck cannon fodder.

I’m not a huge fan of Kemp as a forward, but that’s where he’s been playing in the VFL. I think we’ll have to select him if both Harry & SOJ are out.

At this stage it's just throwing magnets up in the air and seeing how they land.

But... in regards to Goldstein - Xerri won't play, so Goldy won't spend too much time up forward.

This assumes the worst case scenario.
