Geeeez. McGovern is a huge loss.

I think we go in light down back and the bench is Pittonet, Kennedy, Cerra, Martin

Yep

Goes to show how quickly things can turn.
We are bereft of players in a zone we were strong in.

Jones Marchbank out First Half of 2022
McDonald McGovern out injured after Round 2 2022.

Young and Plowman last men standing to support Weitering.
Have to target Fisher McAsey or the like for 2023.
Recruiters will be on the look out for KPDs in midseason draft.
We might need him.

Weitering and Plowman are the most durable we have got, so be nice to them.

I'd suggest Martin wont make the cut.
Pittonet, Cerra, Kennedy and one of Parks, Plowman or Boyd as the 7th defender. Personally I'd go with Plowman to play on Breust.
Will the Hawks play Koschitzke to stretch us down back?

I think that would be a mistake on their part - we will be applying heaps of pressure and the balls going into their forward line won’t be as clean as last week…

Looks like it will be Pittonet, Cerra, Kennedy and Plowman with Martin the sub.

I reckon Cerra, Kennedy & Pittonet are all locks if they are fit.

The last spot has to be a choice between Plowman and Parks. Plowman for me, although Parks has improved.

Martin the sub.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we go one short down back. Martin in to play forward, SOS the swingman if our defenders struggle with their height.

I find it hard to believe we will leave Martin out. He’s too dangerous.

Yep. We need a 7th defender for rotations and a part timer won't fit the bill.
We like a settled backline and with Gov and O"Mac out already, I cant see them rolling the dice and going in without a 7th defender for the first time in years.
I'm one of Martins biggest fans but I cant see him pushing out any of 4 other bench selections. Parks has improved but Breust would tear him a new one.

Ugh... the backline is very weak. Going to have to make sure the pressure is on them upfield, cos if they have clean entry I don't think we'll have the players to go with their tall forwards

Further wasn't on the Tuesday injury list published by the club. Back to the bullshit spin doctors of the past. Did he just suddenly do a 4 week hamstring at training? I doubt it. Treating supporters with contempt .......again.

If it were me:

Bring in Young to replace OMac.
Swing SOS back to fill Gov’s role (he can read the play really well).
Smaller, intensely tackling forward line but with TDK slipping in intermittently.
Martin, Cerra, Young in for Gov, OMac & Fogarty.
Plowman or Parks as the sub.

Yeah I’ve noticed JSOS slipping into the backline more than a few times over the last few weeks so you could be right on this one.

A great test for the team defence.
The bench of Pittonet, Cerra, Martin and Kennedy gives us nowhere to go if defensively we fall apart. As said, keep the ball in our forward half and there is no issue.

Defence is a bit undermanned but if the midfield can perform like it has over the last two weeks we should be ok.
Cripps, Walsh, Kennedy, Cerra and Hewett. All 5 playing together. That’s a powerful midfield that should be able to give us territory.
Forward line is pretty much unchanged from the last two weeks and has the firepower to kick a big score.
Largely this feels like a test for our mentality. Strong in the contest and pressure around the ground and we should get the result.
