Well, the Hawks crushing win over Port makes things interesting…
I reckon it’s good for us so we don’t take it lightly. Yes, Port were crap. But the Hawks obviously aren’t as bad as many thought… (same for Gold Coast the following week…).

Watched the HAwthorn Port match last night. The Hawks were well drilled and moved the ball fast and with system.
If next week we can dominate the midfield, I think we'll have their number.

And the inside 50 58 to 46 against us we will smash them

Hopefully, but we will still need to be able to play for 4 quarters, something we have been unable to do for a few years.
Maybe this could be the game that changes that out of necessity.
Fingers crossed.

Interesting stat.
So in order to beat them and stop this we will need to make sure our team defence and more importantly our F50 defence is on point.
Midfield wall out of our F50 will be the key, something that has been good for us the last couple of games.
Should be a great test and great game.

Murph was on the Sunday footy show this morning.
He mentioned that he and Eddie would be doing a lap around the ground before the game.

Hawks have a heap of run , and if you want to be picky that is possibly our weakness . Watched the Hawks and there rebound is incredible . So i reckon its a matter of choking them at the contest where we excell . Reckon our coach will be right on to that and he will turn this game into an ugly slugfest with a take no prisoners attitude . Reckon we will see the real Voss this week with the real mongrel coming out . It will be no taking a backward step game . Lets see what we are made of coz i reckon Voss is gonna be at his demanding best and heaven help anyone who doesn't give 100 % .

Port were very fumbly.... even WITHOUT pressure... Not sure why? Perceived pressure, panic, worried about instructions and what to do next??
I thought it was a bit (very noticeably) weird

Hopefully they're imploding

Go Blues

Big game for the club. We’ll presumably go in as favourites. Historically we’ve struggled with expectations. Will be a good test of the mindset of the group. Hawks playing well so they will be relatively confident of knocking us off. Should get a good crowd at the G. Looking forward to it. A win will be a good sign of maturity.

Got a question that I hope you guys can help me with.
In a bit confused with this new ticketing system the club has, so does anyone know what I need to do to reserve tickets in the member zone so that a bunch of us (all members) can sit together ?
Thanks in advance.
Go Baggers!!

Watched a fair bit of the Hawks/Port game. Big outs for Port, but their disposal was pretty ordinary, very fumbly too.

Let the Hawks run free and rebound and we'll be in trouble. We should be able to win in the ruck, De Koning jump all over McEvoy early then send in Pitto. Our marking options up forward should cause trouble, must hold the ball in when it hits the ground, pressure Hawks runners. Must play hard, committed footy. Will be a good test. Go Blues.

I'm taking Hawthorn's form line through the their Rd1 win against North. hey won comfortably but North are very ordinary as demonstrated yesterday when the fell in against an experimental WCE outfit.

We have no excuses here. I'm not buying this BS that Hawthorn are suddenly a great team. We hve to come out an exert our mid field dominance and put this game to bed early.

Our form is way ahead of Hawthorn's. Time to deliver.

Agree with this play a strong brand of football early and blow them off the park
Their midfield ain’t that good and their backline got lots of run but is very loose

Over analysis

We simply need to execute our brand

Which starts with the mental size of things. If we play like Millionnaires then we will lose.

Good test for Voss in so far as whether he has this playing group motivated week in week out to bust their gut and give maximum effort.

I don't believe the Hawks are a great side but if we don't come to play they'll show us up. Mitchell cleverly already talking Carlton up

Hawthorn had something like 12 marks inside 50 and kicked 13.0 from set shots, which I think was a record.

Crazy scoring efficiency.
