I thought knees (ACLs) were max 12 months and that timeframe was shrinking with better technology and medical nous.
Both Marchbank and Cuners seem longer than that or have missed something.

Remind me again, how did Russell survive the review?

Marchbank did his ACL in early April 2021
Cunners did his ACL in mid May 2021
Sounds like they’ll both take about 13 months to play again based on our injury report
Not ridiculously slow but also not quick given some players can get back in 9-10 months
For context, Adam Tomlinson from Melbourne did his ACL in early May 2021 and looks on track for round 1 but he also doesn’t have the previous injury history of our two

Against tigers last year

Plow. Weiters. Doc
SPS. Jones. Saad
Setters. Cripps. Newnes
Fog. Casbolt. Fish
JSOS. Harry. Murph

Pitt. Walsh. Ed

Int: Dow LoB Gibbons Willow
OMac - medical sub

JSOS injured Q2. best: walsh,saad,plow,setters,newnes,Cripps

So outs are: casbolt,Jones, sps, murph, Gibbo, Walsh possibly Doc
Likely ins are: cerra,Hewitt, Charlie,Martin,Williams,Kemp (and possibly Kennedy and TDK)

Which team would you prefer?

If Martin has the tank, be tempted to put Martin on the wing, Kennedy forward

However you do it the forward line looks better this year (assuming H is right) midfield about the same (without Walsh) and backs about the same. Bench /depth looks a little better to me in 2022
Walsh (and probably stocker) missing thins out the cream a fair bit….

Ten blokes are sidelined before we’ve even played a practice match.

I know nothing about sports science, but I’d be very interested to compare our a “games lost through injury” numbers against the competition average and the averages of the top teams over the past few years.

Ten is a lot especially when we started 2022 with the 3 long term injuries (Marchbank Cuningham and Docherty) and post surgery recovery for TDK.

So, to the abovementioned 4 outs (for this Thursday's praccy game) we've added Walsh, Stocker, Harry, Honey ... that's 8. Who else will miss the game?

Carroll and Akuei.

Harry Docherty are the 2 from the above who should be considered for round 1, despite Sunrise Sports reporter (Geelong supporter) suggesting Harry will miss in round 1....he always gets anything Carlton wrong...its the News Ltd culture to create sensational headlines....click bait...because the Carlton army is huge and responsive/sensitive.

So Walsh and Honey are the only two missing outside of March and Richie.

The rest are likely playing against Melbourne, but otherwise ready round 1.

Hardly cause for concern.

That remains to be seen. Club has a proven of not being completely honest with us.

I am constantly on scam-alert.
I just want to check whether the email from the Club yesterday about reserving a seat for round 1 and a GA for another game for $75 is not a scam.
Did others get this? Is it real?

Not a scam mate. I’ve received it as well.

Maybe it’s just a well organised and wide reaching scam?

You would have to think, because we follow Carlton and continually get excited in feb that scammers would target us as a gullible market….

The 1300 number gave it some cred.

I called it and upgraded my seats for the game.

and I'm always on scam alert

Just want a great game with two teams going at it!

I would love just for once our best team to be available for round 1. Not this year.

The best team from the list is rarely (and likely never) going to be available.

If Harry and the boys get through tonight unscathed, we may only have Walsh missing for round 1, and arguably Marchbank, Cuningham, Stocker and Honey

Fingers crossed a clean bill of health after tonight's game, and Voss will have the boys frothing for round 1 with o fear for their personal safety....and a win beckons.

I know...one week at a time, starting tonight...GO BLUES
