Buckley is out. His manager said he wont coach next year. Hmmmm is it cause they are sure we are getting Lyon or we look so bad that they dont want the job. ?

I just hope we do have some options and coaches to speak to and not just rely on one option.

Doubt very much a committee comprising Diesel Williams our Director of footy would approve a dud candidate as head coach of the CFC.
Diesel would have made a great coach.

Buckley was spoken to regarding coaching us. Told us he's taking the year off. Reported by Jake Niall of the Age.

Coaches would prefer not to coach than coach us...lol!!!!

Imagine though after 10 years he'd want a rest and a year in the media.

When the St Kilda coaching position became available at the end of 2006, a list of candidates was drawn up. Lyon beat a total of 52 candidates for the job, including favourite John Longmire.[2] He succeeded Grant Thomas, who was sacked a week after the Saints were defeated in an elimination final by Melbourne.

52 candidates! :smoking:

Back in the day when I use to read resumes, my eyes use to glaze over by about #6. By #52 I would book myself into the nut house for weeks stay. :yikes: :yikes:

I still do it.

We get about 400 CVs for every job. I have a 40 page file of the best outtakes.

There’s some bizarre shit people put in there at times and then there’s stuff that just makes you smile.

One of my faves was “I have a knee eye for detail”.

All the best with your retirement money Lyon.

Michael voss is who we want next.

Just stop him from getting too involved with recruiting. Comes from Port who play one of the best brands of footy out there.

Already failed once. Winning record was 39.9%, even less than Teague at 42%, and that was a after a good first year. Last thing we need is to risk a coach that failed in our situation.

I like voss as an assistant, a lot. Something about him as senior coach doesn't fill me with confidence

So what you are saying is that he hasn't learnt anything in his time at Port as an assistant coach (another one who prematurely became a senior coach without the apprenticeship) and despite what he's experienced at Port Adelaide we can't see him become a better senior coach?

Or should we go someone more like Ross lyon who's not coached in any way with current interchange caps, 6-6-6 rules?

Note, there isn't anyone available with a great record who you'd do cartwheels about and I see Voss as someone who is less polarizing than a lot of other options.

I don't know, but he better bring a good exorcist with him as an assistant.

Well whoever coaches vanilla football like Geelong will be the worst possible result get many wins but no flags.

BTW Port is more hard pressing and attacking like Richmond and reckon they will play in the grand final.

Buckley, Lyon these blokes are too vanilla.
