The real sliding-doors moment for Teague was when Longmuir, who we had enticed across from Collingwood to be our senior assistant and take over the defence, instead got the Freo job. We never did get another, new, voice in the box... Covid happened and budgets tightened... And here we are.

Nail on Head.

Have to say, Carlton DID do well to recruit a good one...didn't work out...no fault of the Blues.

Western bulldogs made the call to trade Griffen and both moves appear to have paid dividends.

This is why we are crap though. We change coaches and leave the players ruling the roost.

What do you mean? We got rid of Tuohy, Betts, Robinson, Gibbs, Garlett, grigg and Hampson.

+ Laidler.

Hilarious isn't it.

Carlton are the big story week in week out, because that's what the media feed off....click bait, and genuine interest.

Don't poke the bear.

Tom Morris also reported at the same time , that if Clarko says then Carlton sticking with Teague , and that’s not true at all

So what a furphy of a reporter , I thought he was ok until I heard him say that about Teague tonight

To me, if they wanted Teague sacked it would have been done. With a coach you either want them or you don't and when you don't the bandaid is ripped straight off. No hanging on. The fact he is there discussing the review with Sayers, presenting to the Board, re the season, and doing exit interviews, which you wouldn't do if you're getting sacked, means, hate to say it, he's a likely 2nd choice behind Clarko. If it wasn't he would've been gone at 10am Monday.

Anyone see this from the Age. They reckon we may get some info by tomorrow evening. Also club insiders say the club is not happy about comments made about Cripps.

Hawthorn are going to the AFL as they dont want to pay Clarkson the full settlement if he accepts another job.

Disagree. That logic doesn’t add up for me. DT is dead man walking....a long and painful - but well paid- walk into a another clubs assistant coaching role. The club are playing Minnie Mouse until Clarko makes a decision. Clarko, or Lyon. That simple.

How can anyone forget their modus operandi.

I've been commenting on their deplorable false news for the last few years, but this year, the parasites (in the media) need more click bait than their colleagues to make a name for themselves and please their boss, whether its News, Herald Sun or SEN. They aren't interested in the truth. The truth doesn't achieve clicks. One upmanship is their mantra, and record hits always feature Carlton, and that's life.

I'm loving it. When I get calls from footy followers, Carlton or other and they tell me what they read or heard, and notice they believe it, I just ask them for their source...and watch faces turn  when they realise just how gullible they are....and these are intelligent people.

Tom Morris says the world is flat.

Clarko wont have the same passion coaching the Blues as he did at Hawthorn

Parkin retired at 56 y.o -

Clarko hasnt got many good years left in him and hasnt coached a team in the finals for three years straight.

He is over the hill - but Carlton can be a funny club looking for messiahs - where most have failed..

Fair enough Hawthorn not wanting to pay him the full settlement.
I think something like this has happened before when a sacked coach went to another club.

I don’t really care who we select as our new coach. But we better get it right this time or we may as well throw in the keys and last one out turn the lights off

Lyon isn't coming, they've gone cold on him it seems. Clarko could well be here though very soon. The logic is obvious. You don't keep a bloke around if you plan on sacking him. No business does. They rip the band aid straight off. He's certainly not doing exit interviews talking to players discussing roles for the next season etc if they plan on sacking him. Couldn't be more obvious that if Clarko isn't coach Teague still will be. Can't twist a narrative to suit what you want unfortunately.

Going by tonight's news articles though sounds like Clarko is getting very much closer.

Ian Aitken his senior assistant?...lol!
