Hard to tell I know but it looked to me maybe that RL knew that Clarkson was having a year off and was trying to deflect so he didn’t look like he was too eager when DT is still in the job and put spotlight on Clarkson

Wife.........Oh! Well, I doubt anyone is interested in such a basket case Club with 25 years of failure and infighting behind it.
DT...........Weeeeeellllllllllll.

Wife.........Oh! I'll find you a cardboard box for your desk come Monday.

It's a Tough gig at the top of the Food Chain.

In all honesty this might finally, finally, finally be the real 'Wizard Behind the Curtain' moment for the Carlton Football Club.
By the end of 2024 if Clarkson or Lyon hasn't turned this club around, then Sayers might as well hand the keys back in. It will be proven once and for all that the Board and the Wealthy Power Brokers can't get out of their own way, to help the Club they all apparently have love since birth.

Regards Cazzesman

So by then we will have only needed 25 years and 7 coaches as proof?

I am about 99% sure it wont be turned around and we will be back here again in 3-4 years.

Agree. You can't expect the club to be a model of how footy should be played on field when off field we behave like the family run business with too many kids running the place who seem to have no idea what they're doing.

I’m hoping with Sayers in charge it will be led as less of a family business and run as a plaything of a few cashed up directors or shadow directors rather a competent commercial and sport organisation with good corporate governance

Also everyone is feeling for DT today it would be a horrible situation to be in.
He hasn’t been supported very well and we continue to do these things poorly.

Having said that we are all disappointed about the performance of the club and something has to change

The club definitely let him down , and liddle has a lot to answer for that this 2 years of debacle

It is Sad for Teague to front the media with his direct boss is off taking interviews for a new job and boss of the whole dept in judd taken off at the start of year

Hopefully under sayers the club learns from this shambles they created

Don't blame him - was small chance to play finals this year.

But those to be thought finals is a no go and better to get info on what we already know.

Pushing shit uphill but I still hope he stays (you can all foe me now if you want)

If it's out of Lyon or Clarkson my preference would be Lyon, marginally. Just think he's hungrier than Clarkson

Whoever is coach better be a point of difference and not go on the road of vanilla football.

I can see us turn into Dockers fans in his 2nd year camping 18 players behind the ball and still lose games.

If Lyon comes on board we'd better learn to hold our horses & chill for a season or two. It could get ugly.

I watched a lot of Saints games during his tenure there as my partner at the time & her parents were fans. Saints supporters hated him at the start, then he had them playing very good footy & sentiment completely turned around. I can see a similar trajectory at Carlton.

Still think there's a good argument to say we could actually turn the corner as a club by keeping Teague though.

A new coach has to win games and have a mature and sustainable game plan that all players buy into and get the team to give effort each week

Having said that in the first match next year given we haven’t beaten Richmond in the last 9 opening rounds in those season if we beat them 50 to 48 I would be very happy

I’d be happy with 2 points to 1 Frank...

21-win, 28-loss under Teague doesn't look so bad considering where we are coming from, our injuries and our bottom 8-10 players are pretty average. Plus COVID ravaged season last year (and this year partially).

Still, it's the consistent manner in which we've capitulated that is the problem.
