The club has reduced expectations so far for me, and I can’t see us being a genuine force until the whole board and any whiff of Pratt’s or Mathisons is gone completely.

Yeah , me too . Hope i'm wrong . all been singin ' from the same Hymm book for too long . Hope there is a fresh young bloke out there to take the bull by the horns .

Maybe the board should watch the full ABC interview with Michael Jordan

Yep I know he is the greatest sportsman ever
And he did this interview because without admitting the fact he [REDACTED] up not having Longley featured in “ The Last Dance”
But that’s the sort of person we need to coach this group
Ultra competitive made sure the players knew what it took to be successful including Longley
Near enough ain’t good enough
I don’t know how to put the YouTube link up
Well worth a look if someone can

You can set your watch to it since baldy started - Monday morning rumour we are chasing or into someone heavily ...... let’s say as an example it’s ‘Whitfield’ this time!!!
The club has been very, very, extremely good in fact, at ‘redirecting’ discussion .......

Anyhow , what's done is done . Judd is away and who is gonna be the footy brains on the board ? laugh if you like , but i would love Sticks back in the joint . He LOVES the place . Anything to get a bit of heart and soul back into the joint . Its so friggin hollow there these days . Like walking into a cemetery . The place needs a morale boost big time . Sticks would be a great tonic for everyone . Get back in there Sticks while there is something there to be saved . Wait much longer and it will be gone , thats how serious i reckon it is . The joint is currently a hole , a dump .

Why hasn’t Pom been given a contract with the club?

Absolutely - Sticks, Fraser Brown, Ken Hunter, Michael Jamison and Ian Prendergast of the younger brigade should take a stand and take ownership of their club - leaving it to these non football imposters is a crime.

Geez you have short term memory

Sticks knifed ratts our only successful coach this century, he let the heart of our club leave in betts (flow on effect gartlett and yaz) , he let Robbo go and gave malthouse and Swann a free rein and bring In the hack Thomas ...

Sticks had his time and he can stay a supporter and that’s it ..

That was then , now is now . The place is fracturing and splintering . Sticks is one man who has the respect of most . He is the only one capable of bringing all the groups together . .....................Swann was no good and i said so at the time , and besides , Brian Cook is the one that wanted .

I would rather Fraser brown ( he hates sticks ) and jamo and Kenny hunter , I like that ticket

Honestly i just want anyone who loves the club, understands it’s history , it’s supporters and more importantly knows it’s custodial position and not a god given right !!

I think you’re overestimating the way Sticks is seen by both Carlton people and the wider football community Mick.

Great footballer and a really nice bloke but abysmal administrator and a Pratt puppet.

You can almost see the strings.

Nuh , none of those Suzz . Sticks . ..................and yeah , i do reckon Elliot loved the Club actually . ...........anyhow ,like i said , whats done is done . I reckon Sticks COULD come back and be a part of the future . Still a young man . He has the happy knack of making people feel good about themselves . Sure he made blues in the past but being President you have to make HARD calls . Rightly or wrongly thats what ya gotta do . He got some right and some wrong . Who hasn't ? ........we are splintering and fracturing and i reckon right now Sticks would be a big fillip for everyone around the club .

There is an EGM coming Mick...I am definitely going to be in attendance. These people have done well on the business side but its time for them to step aside allow football people to take over is my feeling.

I'm with you Mick. Carlton people can put the Carlton back in our club and only those truly invested in the club and not themselves, so Sticks is a yes from me.

Football people? Is John Nicholls football enough for you?

https://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/ ... a726a5b7c0

Quote:
“I am frustrated and annoyed Vince has decided to involve himself in this bitter attack. It has been five years since he stepped down as the head of the Carltonians and he is not talking on behalf of the Carltonians coterie group. I know several who are annoyed with what he is doing and I know a lot of members who I talk to are disappointed. He doesn’t speak for all the members,” he said.

Nicholls told the Herald Sun on Friday he was as frustrated as any Carlton fan with the club’s lack of success and long line of failed coaches in the past 25 seasons.

But he said president-elect Luke Sayers had to be given time to enact changes to the club which are expected to include the installation of a new senior coach and shake up the football department.

Nicholls believes a strong-willed figure like former St Kilda and Fremantle coach Ross Lyon could turn the club around, saying the club needed a “tough bastard” to improve the club’s fortunes.
