I think he is our saviour this season. God knows why Pies and Saints got rid of him.

"I've actually been starting to work with more of the senior type guys and guys that we think will become senior guys … guys that we want to use in the pre-season series to have a look at them to see if they've taken the next step,"

Happy about this as he was working with both Hartlett and Setanta on Monday at various points.

I like the way he doesn't blow sunshine up their ars**, it's just call it as you see it. Hopefully Scotland, McGrath Waite and Thorny will take up the offer.

Hallalujah - loving everything I'm hearing about TD's input so far.

Gotta love the Fev comment,

Quote:
Because he was tired and spent he didn't take the care. You've got to get it right here, it gets back to training. We'll just keep making it hard for him until he does (catch on). It's got to sink in. I think he will catch on

I reckon that might just be the right attitude with Fev. Keep him grounded, and who better than TD (mind you I still haven't forgotten....)

I went to one of the training sessions at Caulfield Grammer before xmas, and was very impressed with TD. He was extremely vocal and at the same time very positive and encouraging. Also had time for a smile and a"good on ya buddy" when the ball spilt towards me during a drill and i handballed it back to him.... a class act.

Seems like TD appointment was a good decision.

The day the sexy squad went to training, the really wet day the othr week, TD really pushed a few of the guys, particuarly the guys who have had a sluggish pre season thru injury. Fev, Waite, Kennedy. The drill had them leading out from the square with TD putting the ball out in front, they had to kick it back and then he'd wait for them to run back towards the square and then give them one in a different direction, continually yelling out, SECOND EFFORT.....very impressive the way he made the boys work and more impressive, the work rate he got out of them.

It's Grant Thomas that can't coach. TD didn't send Gehrig into defence in the Prelim.

Its possibly his Match Day/Coaches Box input that is found wanting - but I think its his hands on training/education insights that we are really needing right now. It seems like he is delivering in spades on that front.

I hope so, sorrry guys dont mean to sound so negative on TD, I truly wish him well.

He headbutted egos in a major way which an assistant coach cant do.

Yep spot on Agro. TD ain’t the clever strategist and tactician come game day, leave that to DP.
But he is a great development coach, very good with the kids and will compliment DP well.
Long over due, have noticed most comments regarding intensity level, encouragement and effort shown from players during training has been very positive.

Go Blues

Interesting to read TD’s thoughts on the leadership at the Blues.

I was lead to believe that the lack of leadership from the senior players was the problem? :?

Lance Whitnall

"I will tell you what, he hasn't missed a beat. He has not missed one session of training. Since I've been at the club, he's done everything that we've asked of him and he's looking good. The great thing about Lance and Nick Stevens and Kouta - they've all got something to say - and Matty Lappin, and that's great.

It takes a little bit of pressure off the coaches in that they'll come into a huddle after a certain drill and it will either be Lance or Nick Stevens who will offer that little bit of extra advice. That's good from your leading players but it would be nice to see a couple of the younger blokes make a bit of noise as well."

Surely not. :P

That is incredible, SB. I thought his assessment of Lance was going to read;
"I'll tell you what, Lance is a big peice of fat Sh1t. He drains the club of valuable funds and sloths around the club like a pubescent teenager. His attitude to the game of football is nothing less than appalling. Why this player is still on a list is absolutely beyond me, let alone being paid the massive amounts the KFC eating freak is at Carlton.
