Our coaching has been shit for years. Some of our line coaches are putrid.

Which 17-18 year-old versions of gun players would you have drafted?

Team defence is for pussies...

Gotta give credit to North for their ball movement today I dont think it was ateam defence issue. Goals out of the back was a worry but been doing better than that past few weeks.

Maybe North were too good on the day - more polished and more talented on the day.

Doesnt mean they are better as they fielded their best team looking at their injury list. Today they were too good nothing else to it we just dont have the midfield.... and probably never will if we keep the status quo

So the fact he hasn’t gotten anything of substance from Dow, Setterfield, LoB, SPS and Kennedy is not on the senior coach?
So you hold Teague accountable for the lack of midfield?

Absolutely not - thats just poor drafting.

I dont rate them as A grade quality befit to win flags. Some of these blokes seem to have reached their peak and not sure whether they can go up another level its just the talent they have its limited - Setterfield, SPS, LOB especially. Dow you expect more but worth persisting with - Kennedy is a good back up player but notr regular starting 22 players for mine. too limited for my liking but still have something to offer.

walshy, you are right on this, but you cant keep defending teague off the effort his team put in today. they are not playing for him. dow and kennedy have been better since barker left, so the drafting may not have been spot on, but the development has been worse. teague has had over 2 seasons to be a part of player development, and we have gone backwards. look at norf today - no high draft picks, but average players who know their roles play better that a team of high draft picks that dont know the game plan. this comes down to teague, no matter how you deflect it

If you knew the draft wasn't going to be very good then why draft a 17-18 year old and not trade for a 20-21 year old?

Same thing expect the 20-21 would have been a known quantity.

Of course I am allowed to see the reasons behind todays performance.

Poor drafting and injuries are as much to blame.

The chatter has been for 18 mths now about our coughing up 5+ goals in a row.

One job really.

And we’re still doing it.

Sorry David, but improvement is what’s required.

Probably started the year wondering how he was doing to structure up with all these talls.
Finishing the year with a group of midgets

I just don't know if it is him or the players as he comes across as a fairly genuine person where previous coaches were just full of shite.

I will be surprised if he survived the review

Thought we'd structured up and defended well collectively for the last month. Today was the Eagles game all over again. Massive step back.

From the moment Chris Fagan took over at Brisbane HE has put them on a mission. I don't see any of that with Teague.

Our club has a massive mindset challenge before it. When you are shit for so long you go into self preservation. A noticeable thing when in self preservation is how one celebrates a goal when losing. Some of our players are embarrassing.

Spot on and you can all take that to the bank , so all you Teague supporters out there , start conditioning yourself , this train in 4 weeks is going over the cliff , there is no track left !!

Driving home today with 18 year old after watching the game at his grandparents house , I said to him geez we played terribly today and his response , I don’t care anymore !!!!

I don’t think I’ve ever seen Teague on the phone in the coaches box. I guess we can thank our lucky stars he waited until 3/4 time to personally deliver the news to the cornerstone of that defensive structure that he was being taken out of the game.

Pulled a Buckley. Will suffer the same fate.

in all seriousness, can we afford to sack him, with the cuts in the soft cap? will we get screwed by the afl if we overspend on the soft cap due to sacking teague? he is contracted for 2022, so we would need to come to a settlement, which will come out of either this years, or next years soft salary cap. i think this issue will stop us from getting rid of him
