I don't think it was an effort or attitude issue rather the timing of change of game day mechanic implementation mid season caused confusion.

But as proven putting numbers behind the ball took the team to coach a mere four weeks.

Now we have an issue where we are not getting enough quality looks at goal as Fwd 50 is left vacant - it's timid and protectionist homogeneous football.

The team needs to be brave and bold as only fortune favours the bold.. and that needs to be drilled into them.

There is no reason for Teague to change his ball movement gameplan other than media pressure. Especially mid season. The change in game day mechanics probably cost us two games against Eagles and GWS as players and coaches went in transition mode.

We haven't lost by greater than 31 points against the big teams playing ball movement football and should have beaten a couple of them Bulldogs and Brisbane if Eddie didnt kick 0.4. Considering they were at full strength and we had many players down against these two top four teams makes the mid season change even more amusing. But you just believe what you want and prattle around your narrative in hope you find your next hate filled orgy.

I don't get the reasoning for the opening line Walshy. I don't know you and you don't know me. I don't agree with most of the posters hers on TC, and we have disagreements, so I have no idea where you get the idea we feed off our own narrative. That's not true. We all love Carlton and have different opinions. I get your opinion, but feel its not really representative of Teague's plan or his way. You've taken one part of his game plan and think that's it.

Everyone loves your positive outlook and defense of Teague, but you really don't like anyone having their own opinion or pointing out Teague's shortfalls. You make out he's perfect. Well, let me just say, he's human.

I consider myself a successful person in my own business and as corporate Exec. I've had a hugely fun life. Ive played in Bands, Played for a few footy teams. Owned nightclubs. Seen the World. Plenty of parties, plenty of girls and plenty of mates all around the world. I retired at 55. I'm over 60yo, still don't have grey hair and go hard with FOMO attitude. There's more to my life than Carlton. Its just that I need for Carlton to be successful for my kids to enjoy, like I did growing up, not just because they are my kids,. but I got them into this (mess) Carlton team. Plus I'm on cloud 9 when they win. I like a buzz.

Like you, I love Carlton. Its my past time. My self made free time. Lockdown is keeping me in Sydney, otherwise I've been emancipated since I finished high school.

I'm just trying to point you to a reasonable middle ground; that's all.

Calm the farm, and lets discuss both sides of the story without the bitterness and malice.

Even Teague will tell you he's tweaking things every week, since round 1.

The effort wasn't there on game day against WCE and GWS. The players were not motivated enough to put their head over the ball and win it: nothing to do with game plan, media or whatever. It was conditional behaviour that leads to a loss. GWS isn't that far ahead of us, but they've enjoyed the biggest win against a Carlton team this year. They shouldn't have.

Did you own INFLATION?
Freakin legend if so !

It is great we have won the last 2 games but they were again against mediocre sides and we probably would have lost last weekend had Fremantle kicked straighter. They missed an opportunity to put us to the sword.

Credit to all at Carlton and that includes the coach but to think we are out of the woods is to kid oneself.

As Mick used to say let's see where we stand at the end of the year in terms of wins and losses and the ladder.

If you don’t like the forum you could always leave this is arrant nonsense and totally misrepresents the views of those who have reservations about the current football depth and coaches. We all want the team to do better and the coach to do better but the team is underperforming with the personnel it has there are other good candidates in the wings and we want our team after many bad years to be playing strong smart modern accountable football with a multi dimensional game plan where players know their role in that game plan.
It’s not personal about the coach no one dislikes him per se indeed it is the opposite but we have reservations as to his capacity to do the job simple as that and given the results this season this is a reasonable assessment.
Give him to the end of the year and see whether there is improvement and development of game plan and strategies but we risk more years of mediocrity if we don’t act if he isn’t the one to take us forward

It’s a reasonable sensible and realistic approach in my view

To say that Teague has had 3 years or even being cute to say that he is in his 3rd year is unfair and untrue after all he still has a year and half left of his 3 YEAR contract...

Foxfooty showed a graphic from Champion data.
I'm not sure if you understand how it works but the data reflects the reality. It's not something some flower dreams up. It's data the clubs request and use to analyse the opposition.

Secondly, it's you who is trying to be "cute" with the dates. Under any assessment, David Teagues coaching record starts 8/6/19. To suggest he is in his third year isn't unfair, it's a @#$%&! fact.

Sorry if I offended you, but the reference to being cute is by saying he's on his third year sounds as if he has had 3 years when he has just completed 2 years and effectively no preseasons to refine his game plan .

I understand the champion data and never questioned its validity. I was just stating that the particular metric is just one data point and whether or not that particular metric is a focus for our game plan. You can't be prioritise every metric.

It's clear that we are trying to play a different style to Richmond, which all media commentators measure teams against. I for one appreciate that we are not trying to replicate the Richmond style as the biggest weakness we have on our list is small forwards and pressure players.

No one is arguing that our defence is up to standard, but Teague has said that he is trying to make the ground bigger and this is a tactic that will suit a tall mobile forward line, however he has never had that forward line at his disposal. Charlie, Harry and Gov has played no games together in Teague's time.

Regardless of all that, my main point that is constantly overlooked is that as a new coach, no other coach has had more obstacles in performing their role than Teague and therefor the pressure and judgement of him is premature and unjust.

The only hate I can find here is from you Walshy, hate against anyone who challenges your views. I have read little to suggest anyone hates Teague or the club, if that's your inference. There are some who are passionate, some who are intelligent and some who are frustrated, or all three really...but hate...very few - and most who are filled with hate don't last long here. Give your opinions, argue your ideas, support your coach etc. Its what makes this site worthwhile, but please, enough of the slagging off, or leave if you really believe that of most here are in a 'hate filled orgy' why would you stay anyway? - and if the above was aimed at Bondi well @#$%&! me dead and then reincarnate me and repeat, that's just about the dumbest thought placed in these here threads of bluebagger dreams, and I should know I've probably written some of the dumbest shit here....but my poetry...ahhh my poetry....

Geez some people round here are soft.

Hopefully a call is made to move Teague on soon.

Brad Lloyd must also go.

Thats a little better than your past get rid of him and change this and that - personally calling him deficient and other such nonsense not only you btw. But the constant one eyed unbalanced negativity on a Supporter forum is disappointing to say the least. Don't know why the club allows you to sponsor players when all you guys talk about is one eyed negativity towards the club.

May I remind you we were lucky not to get the wooden spoon in 2019 thats how far back we were.

Solidarity and all that.

Please please please Ross Lyon...for the greater good...undermine Teague

What career? This is probably his first real season and 15 games in utilising the VFL and clubs facilities.

.. he is definitely the best senior coach since Brett Ratten - the pithecus here were probably calling for Rattens blood after 10 games. Would not surprise me the way you guys post with aggression and hate.

So 2021 is where we should start now

Pretty soon, you'll be saying that his coaching career really really really started after the bye this year...he's got a 67% winning record...sign him up for life!!!!!!
