Given we missed out on the West Coast game we should get the opportunity right?

That would be the fair thing to do but I doubt it will happen.
So looks like we will be playing at Geelong again.
We have played there the last 3 years so at least we are familiar with the ground.

We have no backbone as a club mate. We are done.
Our board should just ask the AFL to relocate us to Tasmania and be done with it.
What a depressing soulless club we have become.

Tassie didn't want us Surrey why would we go there.

I don't mind if it is at Geelong. We won there not long ago.

The game should have been played in Melbourne, just like Richmond game.

CARLTON co-captain Sam Docherty underwent surgery yesterday to repair an acute syndesmosis injury.

The 27-year-old reported significant soreness in his ankle which required further investigation.

A specialist opinion was sought on Wednesday afternoon, with the decision made that surgery would be required, which Docherty underwent that same afternoon.

At this stage, Docherty remains a chance of returning to the field this season: however, the Club will monitor his rehabilitation and will be in a position to provide an update on his progress in the final few rounds.

Carlton Head of Football Brad Lloyd said that while the injury was disappointing, surgery would allow Docherty the best form of recovery.

“This is clearly unfortunate news for Sam, who was really looking forward to helping the side put together strong performances in the back half of the season,” Lloyd said.

“Bad luck like this is never good to receive but at least by picking up the injury early we’ve been able to ensure we can get Sam on the road to recovery as quickly as possible.”

Even Whateley has turned on this one - says it should be Monday night footy at the G. Ratings bonanza in Perth. Freo get to play at the home of footy. Deserves its own time slot. I agree.

Apparently Freo dont want to play in Melbourne as they dont think its fair given its their home game. So they are still pushing for Tassie.

In this Covid landscape, funny they are focussing on this as Victoria for once is the safest place to be. All teams last year gave up many home games.

David King is saying Freo are getting too Petty now.

Jaded much?
That is a bit of an over-reaction over a particularly peripheral issue. I wouldn't have thought this is a challenge I'd want our Board to go to the mattresses over (who really cares that much about where an away game should be played amidst a sudden COVID outbreak in a season we can't make the finals and anything other than playing in Perth is better for us than was originally fixtured anyway?).

If it's Monday night, it should be in Melbourne.

I don't blame Freo for wanting Tasmania, but at the same time I don't want us playing in Geelong if there is a Melbourne venue available.

Common sense prevails. Finally the CFC members get something back for giving up so much. Well done to ALL.

Honey and Ramsay a big chance for selection with Williams Murphy and Doc all out.

Fogarty not a definite lock imo.

Newnes may have earned a spot after last weeks game.

Want Levi in after a good game in the VFL and a week's rest. That should do the trick.

IMO if Levi isn't selected this week with Pitto, Mirkov and Oscar out, and DeKoning up against Darcy on his own, Levi's papers may have already been stamped.

We play crap at MCG so Freo should be happy.

Only positive is that I am going to the game.

Interstate teams always complain they don't get enough chances to play at the MCG.

I will complain that the rolling/COVID-19 affected fixture means I can't seem to plan anything that doesn't clash with a game.

This is Freo's home game so they will get all the revenue that Carlton people will pay.

Not only they may beat us in front our crowd and home turf but will also fleece us with our money.

We have failed to compete for 4 quarters in just about every game since Teague took the reigns, not just the MCG.

The thing about the G compared to other grounds isn't the extra 4-6 metres in length but the 10 metres in width.
How that affects Carlton at the G, I do not know.

Is it that there's no roof? 12 metres wider than Marvel.

Metricon and SCG are wide ovals and we played well on those 2 grounds, just not 4 quarters.

If played right against the right opposition, the MCG width opens up teams. Teams who have defense as a weakness can be exploited.

Cool.

At least you're confident.
