Yep.

The club for letting him play on and Fevola thinking he could play on.

He clearly wasn't right.

My fear is the club was teaching Fav a lesson. If fav wants to play let him play injured.

If he had to play with pain killers every week then clearly he wasnt right. With eight weeks to go in the season it was clear he wasnt fit why wasnt he rested.

This is the only time I have ever said this but we should have done what Collingwood done they rested Rocca when finals where out of the question they didnt let him play. It wasnt Rocca decision.

Know we are in January and I have seen Rocca on TV and he looks fit and ready to go with a preseason under his belt and look at Fevela having segury in late in the Year and now struggling to run in a straight line.

Sorry jbee...I read it as a bit of a criticism as well...but I also have to disagree with mick...not everybody saw that Fev wasn't right.

a lot of people on the fan sites criticised Fev for his attitude...and others applauded him for his running efforts...so I guess we needed to meet in the middle ....

And not being an expert in these matters...*("what!" "You are joking, aren't you?" "No, seriously!" "Well, I never!") but I didn't notice too much wrong with Fev on the training track. Sure, he wasn't running full pelt, but does he ever?

I think the blame lays equally between the club and the player. That is something that needs to be addressed.

Couldn't disagree more Mrs C the medicos and match selection comittee are fully responsible. Injured players put their hand up all the time, it's what they live for, Sticks never wanted to miss any games and had to be told he wasn't playing when injured. Any supporter with any clue knew he was injured last year, the ones on here that said he wasn't and it's his attitude obviously don't watch much footy.

Whatever happened to being responsible for your own actions? Sure the club medicos and coaching staff are hugely responsible, but Footballers must also look after themselves.

Maybe he didn't want to be seen as a wimp. I actually think it's great that he was willing to play through pain but he never should have been allowed to. Plenty of players have been willing to play through injury only to be told no by doctors and officials. The coaching staff knew he was far from fit but they chose to ignore it and use him as a decoy.

Hmmmmm ! Ya got me thinkin Mrs Cazz.Dont tell me,Fev pulled the wool over there eyes. That i believe.Footy players have been doing that since Adam was a boy.Its a well known fact that players will try every trick in the book to convince selectors they are right.Could tell ya a million stories, but i dont talk out of school............Funny thing though, the same blokes only need the tiniest of excuses to get off the training track.A tweek here,a twinge there sees them scurrying off to the medical rooms.Come matchday, they are right as rain and ready to go.Na na na coach, never felt better. That chinese herbal medicine worked miracles.
Bunch o' friggin headcases i am convinced.
Years ago they sucked big Perc in.They gave him a smartie and told him it was some new miracle pill developed by the NASSA scientists.Perc being Perc believed them and played the game of his life.Perc came into the rooms after the game like an excited schoolboy imploring the boys to bring the miracle pills next week coz they worked so well.Of course the rooms erupted in laughter, the boys near wetting themselves. To this day Perc gets ribbed unmercifully about the incident. The moral of the story apart from Perc being a prize goose,is that it is mind over matter with so many of these blokes. They will stoop to any level to get a game.

Do you reckon L Freedman would run his best 2yo in the blue Diamond when injured (even if the horse said he could run)?

What happened last year with Fev in the last 8 rounds was a disgrace - should have been operated on in August last year. BLIND FREDDY COULD SEE HE WAS NOT RIGHT.

Don't think that would have been hard :P

I'm only saying that that the blame is shared. Not 50/50....but shared.

As Denis says, so much of this game is played in the head.
