why are we chasing players that are either contracted or a not available referring to oliver or at 100 to 1 wines. We have to sell the farm as the saying goes. Why can't we just land williams and saad and with p7 we go to draft and keep adding another piece to puzzle. Then in 2021 we give away our first rounders after we play finals ( i hope) for that elite out of contracted player .Need something in the bank for nexts year draft trade.
If a player like Oliver is available you would look at him every day of the week.
Having said that, I would be extremely careful in 'not' selling the farm as you say.
I feel 2 round 1 picks, 1 in the top ten (pick 7) is a reasonable price for a player such as Oliver.
If we add a kid, say Dow or O'Brien or Stocker and these 2 picks, that's when you will lose me. Too much!!
Totally agree.
If the final offer acceptable to the Dees, for AA Oliver, was those 2 picks, plus OBrien what would you do?
I tell you you'd be crying you didn't do it in 2021.
Whilst we have not only McGovern, Silvagni, Levi, Newman, Newnes, Gibbons, Kennedy all playing reserves in 2021, in addition to the plethora of developing first rounders like Dow, OBrien, Stocker, Philp, Kemp, even Cuningham. All First rounders.
The addition of an 18yo Pick 7 player or losing one of those players, or two, wont mean jack to you next year, but having the bird in the hand in the midfield helping us beat the Tigers come round 1 2021, you'll be glad we did whatever it took to add one more A Grader to Cripps Walsh Williams Setterfield along with Saad.
Get the 3 whilst we can. Do it, and the cards will fall in place after that...with plenty of depth
